I know we've had discussions on this before, but saw this today. 2010 New Holland Powertach Skid. The ad location is Plano, Texas but the phone number is Miami. If it's real, somebody better buy it quick! There was also a "perfect condition", low hour Bobcat mini-excavator (335 I think) on there yesterday for $3500. The ad is missing today so maybe the scam was reported.

I've been seeing a lot of these and lately the way they are worded seem like it's some one who's first language is other than English. I'm glad they aren't true or I'd have a huge fleet by now.

When I see ads like those, I go to the nationwide craigslist site to see if the item is listed elsewhere. It's amazing to see how the same is item listed in numerous cities. I usually report the item as a scam on my local craigslist. Here's the link:

Yeah, I check Craigslist tractors and attachments almost every day. There is almost always at least one.

I really wanted to buy the 'under 100 hrs Deere Skiploader' (actually a TLB) for $2,500. But I passed. ;)

The link now shows flagged for removal.

Does anyone remember the low buck, low hour M59 with a Laurin cab for really cheap? That thing was listed everywhere.

I see them all the time on the Dallas area Craigslist. I've seen Kubota BX25's for $3,500, etc. What a joke except that some unfortunate sucker will fall for it. (If nobody ever fell for it, these dirtbags wouldn't still be in business.)

If it's priced unrealistically low, it's a scam.

I frequently get something like the following when trying to sell. Always an email response. My ad might be something like
"old lawn mower, fair shape $200." The email response will read "Sounds great, I will take it. I will send my trucker with a check to pick it up. Please affirm this by replying to my email. Bob" Never a phone #. If I respond the "trucker" will show up with a bank check for $500. What!! My boss is such a dope. Just give me $250 in change, keep the other $50 for your trouble.

We all know that check is solid rubber, I would be out $250 and the item I wanted to sell.

I was thinking of getting rid of my skid steer and was shopping for a Toolcat this fall. About rock bottom in this area was $20k, and that was for machines with rusted out floors and really subprime condition.
I elected to keep a skid steer that I know has been well taken care of and is in nice shape.

These will stop when users immediately flag them as a scam. Rather than read them and wish it's true, flag them. When we all do that those predators will move on. No money. No stay.

You'd be surprised how many readers will fall for it and actually send money to the posters. That's why they continue to be there. "Too good to be true". Probably is.

Also noticed that they're listed at odd prices like $6216, not at rounded off numbers.

But my friend actually did buy a B7100 for $2000. c/w FEL !

Was a private deal and so far has put 1300 hours on it with only a few minor problems that would be considered normal wear and tear for the age.
On the other hand many would have turned up their noses at it due to lack of TLC.

Good deals can happen!
Keep looking, just be careful out there.

I see these obvious fraud postings several times a week. No need to even search to see if they are a scam. Price is way to low & the description is usually short with 1 photo.

Flag em as soon as you see em & do everybody a service.

A few weeks ago I saw an ad for a Kubota KH90 excavator for $5K. Knew it was too good to be true. Ad has since been flagged and removed. Different scam ads are on CL every day.

I called one of those cl ads that looked like a scam. Ended up buying a great tractor for 10k under the going price. Some of those ads are real.

Did you check to see of it was reported stolen?
