This condition is known as Selective Deafness

I have been accused of this for years. And tractor bling has to be accounted for, I find if I keep it on the same cc cycle, as her bling, I'm OK!

As a young child, I was always surprised when my grandfather couldn't hear my grandmother across the room, but he would look up if a car door slammed down the street. :)

Been married to this wife 30 years. When asked by a young boy what the secret was, I just said I learned early to ignore her for the most part. Just not hearing (selective hearing) prevents a lot of arguments.

Of course she does the same thing to me also.

Been married 41 years. Wife can get jealous of tractor or guitar or anything else if you don't pay enough attention to her. I figger that's fair enough. On hearing there are at least two versions of this. One is selective deafness as mentioned. There is another where you actually have a conversation but never remember a thing like it never happened. My wife calls it "might as well be deaf."

She will say "I told you that yesterday" to which I say, "Did I answer you?", "No" she says, "then I mustn't have heard you".

I then get "Never mind". :mur:

OK with me......:dance1:

I prefer to be proactive instead of reactive - I tell them they wouldn't get the "selectively deaf" so often if they would practice "selectively mute" once and a while

...did I mention I'm divorced...lol

The new one understands me :D

Hmmmmmm I'm thinking we would need to see an entire 12-month calendar of different women to believe that its really that fast!
