I would layer some Manure then the liver more manure and top it off with some hay. Fill pot with water and boil till tender. Throw the liver away and eat the manure and hay.

I just checked with Martha Stewart, and she said that was not her recipe. She did want to know what kind of manure that you use though.

Soak in water containing baking soda before frying.

I asked Sharn Jean how she made her liver and onions; here's what I think she said:

Make sure your liver is sliced thin; soak in milk, in the frige, for at least a couple hours or more.

Roll in flour and brown in the skillet. Drain the grease; add your onions and some water and simmer until done.

Remove from skillet; add flour & water thickening and stir to make gravy. Add liver and onions back to skillet, simmer in the gravy. Serve.

I don't know whether that's what she said or not, but it sure sounds good to me.

I'd use Tennessee Walking Horse manure of course. Around here we use it for prize winning roses 7' tall okra plants and grass. It sells better than any other kind of manure.

You sound like a scotch drinker I know...he said it takes an "acquired taste"...I said suit yourself but I don't understand why anyone would want to acquire a taste for something that smells like a cross between rotten toe jam sneakers and horse manure...!

I do love Okra! Quarter horse is the easiest to come by around here.

When the wife and I go to J&S Cafeteria I always get the liver and onions...
My wife can't stand them and does not fix them...
We don't got to J&S that often...
Perhaps couple times a month...
But that satisfies my liver fix...
