My tractor is orange. Last time I was at the dealership he made an offer on my 2009 M6040 that almost made me weak in the knees. I guess pre-tier 4 tractors with low hours are a hot item. It would have been a real sweetheart deal if I was in the market for a larger tier 4 tractor.

I have the same "problem" with my Kubota dealer too. I used to wander through the new tractors kicking tires just for fun, but that has already led to one trade-in!! I'm afraid to visit now that the great Tier IV "divide" has happened, as I know my older Tier IV Interim model has a lot of appeal and the newer Tier IV Final models have some downsides. When I traded my B2920, they offered a very fair price and then sold it within a week for about $800 profit. I think they do pretty good flipping low hour used tractors when used to incentivize new tractor sales.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I meant trade my Kioti at a Kioti dealership for a larger new Kioti.
The dealer that I originally bought my ck35 said he wasn't interested in a trade in. I only had 75 hours on the machine. I contacted two other Kioti dealers and they said no. Now my tractor has about 175 hours on it. I'm just curious if others had the same misfortune with their used Kioti's.

I find that hard to believe, and troubling. Either these guys don't know how to make money on trades (which should be a routine practice in the tractor business) or they have some reason to be afraid of that particular model. Is it possible they just don't see a demand for your particular model/configuration??

I traded in the fall, my Kioti Dealer was great, he gave me a great trade in value on my 8yr old CK20 for a CK35. JD offered more on paper for a trade, but their Tractor price was out to lunch... Kubota offered just a bit less than Kioti for trade value.

Has anyone pulled off a good deal and traded in their used Kioti for a new-bigger and better tractor. The three dealers I spoke with don't want anything to do with used Kioti's.

Sounds like they're nutz! Dealers who won't take their own brand in on trade?:confused3: Hate to hear what they would say to a trade from another brand?
You're best off looking for a different dealer, same brand, who will trade up for you. Did you talk to the dealer you bought from originally?

Yep, the dealer I originally bought from told me flat out "Nope" He didn't want a used ck35 on his lot for what he said might be quite a long time.

When I was tractor shopping this year there seemed to be a good supply of used Kioti tractors that were traded in at a few of the dealerships within my driving range. The price on them would have saved me a little bit compared to a new machine but it wasn't enough to sway me to a used machine. So now consider the buyer who walks in looking for a new machine and is faced with the save a couple thousand on this used machine but now you cant take advantage of the special 0% for__ or you wont qualify for the cash back on the __ you can actually see an other reason for not wanting a trade. Now add that to a dealer who is a lower volume dealer and would have to sit on the machine till a cash buyer walks in or is in a market where a bigger size machine is the norm and you can clearly see why some wouldn't want a trade.

I actually saw just this week a DK40 like mine being sold used with a couple hundred hours that was actually priced higher than what I paid new for mine. Figure that into this as well and now You can see yet an other reason why a relatively new machine with low hours might be a little hard for some dealers to handle.

May have more to do with cash flow and flooring inventory costs than anything.

Don't know, just throwing the idea out there as my goal when buying anything is to find the guy with the cash-flow problem, and then offer to pay with cash.

You have to have cash on hand to take a trade. If a dealer who is on floor plan sells a tractor then he must pay for that tractor. To take a trade he would need to have the $15,000.00 in cash to hold the trade till it sells. I like trades but when the tractor is near new with less than 100 hours it makes it hard to sell because you need a cash buyer because there is no special financing for that tractor compared to the new one that i have in stock. I sometimes recommend the customer to sell the tractor on his own then come in for a clean no trade deal. This way he gets full selling price for the his tractor and i can discount the new tractor because i don't have money in a trade.

Try to sell it on your own. That size tractor is highly popular! When I got the money in hand I would not set foot on any of those dealers lots either. There's gotta be a Kioti dealer near you that wants your business badly enough.

I agree with this. Used compact tractors seem to be in demand. I sold mine on CL in about a week. 175 hours is nothing for a diesel tractor. (barely broke in yet) Then take your cash for a down payment on whatever brand you want.
