Snow Equipment Owning/Operating Pictures of your snow weapons

Congrats on the new tractor.
I like the use the blower for snow as it spreads away from the driveway and no banks are on the edge. You will notice this from oldtimer 66 photos after yours what I mean.
I just use the bucket for some hard to blow inside corners.
A blade on the front and a blower on the back work well.

Right- the banks on each side are already over a foot tall - and this could definitely create a problem if/when we get a big snow. I'm open to suggestions if you have any!

What are your thoughts on front-mounted blowers? I'm assuming hydraulic powered would be too under-powered, so are there any good solutions for getting the PTO power to the front? I only ask because I'm considering getting a rear blade anyway for summertime driveway maintenance.

Five point best of luck and congrats with the new tractor. Looks like you will be warm and dry in the snow. I purchased a Woodmaxx snowblower last year worked great, also had a snow plow for the front.

Thank you - I hadn't seen that brand before. Looks like they only go up to 72" in width, which might be a bit small for my application. The T4.75 is 79" wide... so I'd probably want somewhere between 80"-90"??? Not sure.

Just using the bucket for now - thinking a front blade should probably be next, and maybe a blower.
1/2 mile driveway + small farmyard to clear. Open to suggestions - willing to make an investment in the right equipment for long-term use.

Congrats on your beautiful new tractor. For a 1/2 mile driveway your bucket isn't going to cut it for snow removal. I suggest front blade, rear snowblower and rear chains.

I have a front mount/subframe for my Kubota (L3940) and love it. I would highly recommend a front mount blower.
Everyone yearns for one that attaches to the loader arms (I know I sure do). That means it must be hydraulic, basically.
They are expensive....
Regarding hydraulics being "underpowered"..... completely not true if designed properly. I could certainly design a hydraulic system that would handle 2x the horsepower you had. You will lose a few percentage points in efficiency, but you gain in flexibility.

There are rear-PTO powered driveshaft-driven front-mount units from places like Erskine, too.

Just purchased my first tractor last week. 2014 New Holland T4.75 - arrived just in time for the snow.

Very happy with the NH so far - seems like too much fun to be a 'work' vehicle. ;)

I opted for a front blade to plow snow (I kinda like the banks of snow)

but know that they need to be pushed back to make room for the next good snow. So I fabbed a wing plow.

Nice, but with my machine, I can drive "straight" into the bank and push it back.
I'm pretty sure fivepoint can do the same with his.

A nice pull type blower should fit this tractor.

10-4 and I've done that before, and it gets old and time consuming on a quarter mile drive (with a blade and worse with just a bucket), let alone the 1/2 mile drive that fivepoint is talking. ;)

With the wing, it is a quick 15 minute job, including hookup, wing, and put away. Gilding the lily a bit, but I like the way the wing rolls the snow bank back so the drive doesn't drift and there is room for more snow.

I have a three point hitch and pto on the front of my two JD 6430 tractors and it folds up and allows me to use my loader. I modified a new Fisher minute mount plow to fit the hitch and added a top link mount. I also got a rear mount snow blower that I use on the front, it is so nice to use the blower on the front and not have to back up and look out the back all the time. Both implements can be put on or taken off in minutes. Using the 3 point hitch the tractor is pushing directly on the implement not a loader frame. A front 3 point hitch is an investment but in the long run it makes snow removal so much easier and you can always run a mower in the summer.

A few videos of my setup.

Ya, your right about it being time consuming, but when its all you have...
I definitely like the wing idea, will most likely be doing something similar this summer,
either that or extend my plow from 7 1/2 to 9 1/2, I'm also considering adding some sort of "wing" contraption on my backhoe rear bucket, so I could drive forward with this wing thingy sticking out to the side to push back the banks,:confused2::cool:
Allot of good ideas here to consider, WE will conquer this snow stuff one way or another.:p
