Would your wife notice if you got a new tractor?

I already convinced my wife that tractors are free (save more money with them than they cost) - this was certainly true of my first tractor. So I wouldn't mind if she bought something that had similar economics!

Bought a year old zero turn and cut the lawn with it a couple of times.... I was a little astounded that nothing was said about it, so I parked it in the middle of the laneway next to the old riding mower.. finally my genius was acknowledged.

I had my first tractor for 27 years. When I traded it in for the current one - the wife understood why and was all for it. And yes, I discussed the purchase beforehand with her.

Actually it could be that I get a "pass" on tractors when she wants a new car and I take her to the dealer and tell her to pick out what she wants. She picks one and I pull out the checkbook and pay for it. Gotta work these things in advance.

That's kind of how I work it too... Daughter #1 says "dad, you just bought a new tractor". Me "here's $500". Daughter #2 says "dad, you just bought a new tractor". Me "here's $500". Wife says "can I go to Europe with my sister?... I've always wanted to take this trip with her". Me "done... send me the bill". Suddenly there are no complaints about money spent on new tractor.

To be clear - I did discuss the latest tractor purchase with my wife. We always discuss any big purchases. But I do think that I could get away with a same color swap without my wife or my younger daughter even noticing. My older daughter is a tomboy. She likes sports, trucks and tractors and would surely notice. But she can be bought.
