Observer or Buddy seat for LS P series tractor.

Does anyone have any updated info on buddy seats for the p series 7010. Like where to get one or how muck they cost

You can order one through your dealer, I don't remember how much it cost but it was pretty reasonable.

I'm looking at a P7010C and asked the same question from the dealer yesterday. He's checking on the exact price (he has to order it) but said he didn't think it was more than a couple hundred bucks (installed). The part only is likely cheaper. I'll repost once he quotes an exact price.

Well my dealer called me back and said LS has discontinued the part while they reengineer it. Another words took it off the market because of a probable lawsuit. I think I will buy the Sloan one for John Deere and make my own adapter plate

Ironhorse you will not be disappointed in the 7010. It's got the most bang for buck and quality of any of the foreign mfgs.

Ironhorse I saw in one of you other posts you were looking at open cab because of the trees. Wanting a cab was my main reason for getting a new tractor. My place is full of trees and it's not a problem. If you have any branches that hit the cab you just knock em down with the bucket. As a fellow Texan that has one of each I'll take the cab tractor every time for the climates we work in. Most important thing is it increases the amount of time you can spend in the seat working. Hot, cold,wind and rain it dosent matter you can keep workin

I just got the same response. I asked about the possibility of signing a waiver and he said they told him they are out of the old design and trying to redesign an alternative. I assume there was an issue that resulted in a lawsuit. Bummer!

Remember guys, LS in the US doesn't build anything, they import product. When I got mine last year they had two in stock and seriously doubt they ever ordered more. If anybody else actually owns one it would Be nice to hear from them them.

Same thing happened to me with the refrigerator for the P series. I saw it in the parts catalog and had my dealer order it by the part number. My dealer told me at a dealer meeting with the factory people and the refrigerator came up, they told my dealer they never sold a refrigerator.

They brought up this forum on an overhead projector and showed the post with pictures and it was the first time anybody from the factory was aware of it.

I agree it shouldnt be this hard. My dealer said they are out of stock and not ordering due to legal issues. I may try contacting the US office direct. The cooler idea is grat also. Can you post a photo of that also? Thx

I would really like to know what the legal issues are. Seems John Deere and other tractor manufacturers got it past the legal beagles.

It's a cooler/warmer. The Burl wood finish might not be everyone's preference, but the box indicated there were a couple of color choices. (Maybe not in THIS country)

There is a plug already on the tractor and the cooler snapped right into place. I like mine but it was pricey.
