Advice wanted on new 2013 kioti dk40se hst cab vs 2015 LS xr4046hc

I was unclear, my fault.
I didn't mean the LS was a bigger tractor physically, both tractors are about the same there, but the LS has about another 5 HP, which doesn't really matter unless the OP plans on maxing out the tractor with a rotary cutter or tiller. I'm glad I'm not making the decision, as I have no idea which I would choose. Both are great tractors and you really can't go wrong. I think the loader on the Kioti, the tier 3, and the layout might push me in that direction.

You are correct on the HP, and that's why I chose between the XR4046 and the DK50 (rather than the DK40 or DK45) when I was shopping.

I called the dealer today and they will fill the tires with a antifreeze solution. Will that affect the rims down the road.

Thank you I didn't think so but I have never had tires filled on anything that I have owned before. The dealer said they haven't used calcium in years.

Sorry for the late reply. I'm out of town on business and haven't checked in since my prior post.

I love my DK50. I wanted a cab and I wanted the biggest tractor I could get with HST. The Kioti wasn't the biggest (Deere and Mahindra make models with more power and HST), but I liked the DK50 and decided it was the one. I have not been disappointed in it at all.

Sometimes I wish I had bought the next frame/power size up - maybe 70hp or so. But the DK50 really does everything I need to do. And the cab keeps me nice and cool in the hot Texas summers.

There is no perfect tractor when you're shopping. You will always find some things you like about one model versus another one, but other things you prefer about the other model. Use your gut instinct to decide which features are more important to you. For me, one little thing that weighed in Kioti's favor was the 3 point lift handle on the back of the tractor. With a cab tractor, that handle makes hooking and unhooking implements a LOT easier.

Glad to hear you love your dk50. I would of liked a dk50 or 45 but I don't think there are many new ones left I couldn't find any atleast. Yes the handle on the back of the tractor for the 3pt hitch is a very nice feature especially with a cab.

Well come to find out the tractor the dealer found did not have a cab so needless to say I went to the XR dealer. So the 4046 will be delivered some time next week. Has anyone noticed that when the hst is under load it seems the peddle gets harder to push.

When an HST tractor begins to bog down, you ease off the HST pedal rather than push further. It's not like an accelerator pedal in a car. You get max power by letting off the pedal so you are creeping along. It takes a bit to get used to the idea of it.

Oh, and congrats on the new LS. I'm sure it will be a great tractor and will serve you well. I'm sure you realize that pics are mandatory to keep your status as a TBN member in good standing? We'll be waiting.

Yes, the pedal is counterintuitive, as PDPappy said, and you will adjust to it over time. Cold is a factor too, until the hydro fluid reaches NOT, (normal op temp). And, as you use the tractor you'll get to know when/where to set the throttle to have adequate RPMs for the task at hand, load in bucket, grade of terrain, humidity, temp, black holes in the atmosphere, etc.

Well, that's one way to decide it:laughing: The LS is a good machine and you should be very happy with it. And yes, the pedal gets harder to push under load, makes sense if you think about it. A few hours and you'll have a good grasp of throttle settings and such.
