Reloading ammo

Yea i dont dare load Defense ammo. I have never had a fail to fire or anything, but i want to make sure that crimp is strong and the case is in spec and the powder stays dry etc, if i ever need it!!!!!

I like the xds but i think i will end up buying the M&P but i know it dosent come in .45 i dont think?

I remember from the CCW class the instructor saying never load your own defense ammo. But his reasoning was some lawyer would be all over it saying you had a bullet with his clients name on it. Sounds silly but it could happen I guess.

Dillon also provides parts free under their, "No BS warranty". In fact, though I've never needed this service, you can sent them the whole machine and they will completely refurbish, test, and return it, all at no charge. It doesn't matter if you were the original purchaser or not, if you find one in a scrap heap, the no BS warranty still applies - - probably the reason prices for used Dillon stuff is not a lot less than buying new.

I have a Dillon 650, a Super 1050, and a RF-100 automatic primer filler - all excellent. Have no experience with Hornady (except for their excellent V-max bullets!).

Happiness would be finding a broken old "blue press" at a yard sale for $20. Sold by someone who did not know about them.

To answer your question... I use to have an ammo mfg. license and I also designed and swaged jacketed bullets, so I have loaded many thousands of rounds over the years. But, as you can see, I keep two press' that I like on my "most used" reloading bench,

The Bonanza CO-AX and a RCBS Rockchucker...

It is strong, solid ash top, I built it out of a tree I harvested myself,

You can see the ash log on top of the load,

I milled it,

and built the bench,

to get this,

I drilled some holes and pounded in some 30 cal. 200 grain Match Kings, to hold my wrenches,

I'm happy with it...

Well, Rob, that is a very sturdy and cool bench!. Especially now that we know the full story.. I would never have thought to use the .30 call bullets as pegs.

I don't think laser sights were big when I got mine 20 years ago.

Has anybody ever heard of someone getting in trouble for shooting someone with handloaded ammo? I've also always read to never use handloads on your carry gun.

Im in the process of grtting off my butt and finally building a reloading bench. I dont need a larde bench. Im thinking of a harbor freight tool chest on the side and a 2' x 4' work top. I keep all powder and etc in a 8 drawer file cabinet already.
