windy afternoon, I guess it's that Clipper bringing the snow to New England again. I see some light snow as far South as Wilmington DE but that's it so far. 45 tomorrow, 55 Sat and Sun with rain coming in Sunday.
went over to my neighbor's house next door and let him use my tractor with the Long tree spade on it to clean out a clogged ditch he had. He has a two series JD and has used a FEL so he had no problems, other than as many of us know from jerking the wrong way, JD's hydro treadle works opposite to Kubota.
he is about ready to sell his two series, really thought he wanted a tractor when what he really needed is a fast zrt, since his land is 99% open and flat. He sold a Hustler to get the JD, and now regrets it. For sure a SCUT will not usually cut as fast or as well as a good zrt. And with me next door, he has a tractor to borrow.
So I told him I thought it made sense for him; sacrilege telling someone to sell his tractor but he said 95% of his hours on the tractor were spent mowing. He can't afford both so...he is going to look at a diesel Kubota first, then a JD, then I'm not sure.
