a fine morning bringing home a trailer full, well almost, of fruit trees from Lowes. Added some red delicious and gala apples, Elberta and two other peach varieties, Two plum varieties and a couple of nectarine trees. Already had plenty of pears. I think I'm at 30 trees but maybe one more. Also got some Leland Cypress to start building a sight wall on one side of my home. Way too much fun. Oh, and pink dogwoods and flowering cherries. Way, way too much fun. Johnny Appleseed is on the job and is large and in charge.
It is such an effort to get my larger size phd on that I figured I'd get a season worth of trees now, and get them planted. Dig all the holes I need, then get that phd off. My 280 pound helper and I spent at least ten minutes getting that thing on. Of course the hydraulic top link has to come off, along with taking off the quick hitch, so that's more unhooking. Too bad they can't figure out how to make it quick hitch compatible.
Will likely be a couple weeks before any chance of planting these trees. Going to get mighty unpleasant outside for the next week, though on a clear day I can certainly dig my holes.
So what is the next one being called....Snowzilla or similar. New England is sure getting a traditional winter. But reading this is worrisome for our Texas friends and others out West:
