arrow, did you have a backhoe on your machine.

A tracked 'dozer on bedrock acts about the same way as a tractor on ice
Both stain your shorts.

Does the same thing on ice if there are no caulks welded on the grousers.

Of course, coming back through his woods, I ran over something sharp, and by the time I got home I had a flat front tire. There's a moral there somewhere.

No good deed goes unpunished. :D

Arrow, sorry to hear about your mishap, but hey at least you got your machine back, even though the recovery did cost you some bucks.

Not certain what you mean by this LD but if you did sumpin for me to load pics... thanks. After my stuff would not get her out, I succumbed to the 10* weather and just called the service in. Being a Sunday may have caused increased prices but, what the hey. At any rate, there is another 18" of snow under the right wheel of the tractor. Every time I moved, she sunk deeper on that side. It was getting tippy at this point. What might have worked was to lash a pole or 2 by to the right wheel and see if she would work herself out. Perhaps it was the cold and my gloved fingers falling off at this point ( getta get better gloves) but I simply rationed that a wrecker would make this child's play and it did. Perhaps one of those 5 ton come-alongs would have done the job as well. These are before (stuck) and after (on the landing)pictures. As everyone can plainly see, she looks a bit embarrassed that she couldn't get out. Had to console her a bit.

That's why i leave my backhoe on.
Cheers.

I just mounted mine back on for ballast on Sunday. I have drop-offs like that on both sides of my driveway going down into water. I think I'll leave it on for the rest of the season after seeing those pictures.

Used to get stuck routinely in the old IH, but having a 10' truck plow mounted in a snow bucket with power-down meant I could hinge myself out of a lot of precarious situations, even with a 2wd tractor. Don't think I could of gotten out of that situation though.

Wow, quite the adventure there Arrow... glad you came out of it unharmed and your "girl" looks to be unscathed as well (less the blow to her ego).

Any idea what set you off in the wrong direction?
