The freezing is as in froozen water or iceing . And from what I was told today at my dealer the update to the venting system will only be addressed if the tractor has the isue like mine had and is a major deal. But all the new units that are being built will have the new update. I am glade they have a fix for the isue and my unit will have the update. But just me thinking , I would think it would save Kubota a lot of money if they would have a call back on all the tractors in cold weather areas fixed or updated.
Hi WBJ Jr, - thanks for your PM with the scary details on how your rig behaved as the engine went out. It would be good if you posted these details here too (maybe without naming dealers) so there is a clear public record of the TWO MX5200 occurrences, rabcon's and now yours. If the factory is deciding how deep to dive on the fix/recall they should know TBN members are reading and talking about it.I also have a 2014 MX 5200 that did the same exact thing yesterday. Bought 9/2014 with 115 hrs on it. Got away from New Hollands because I thought the Kubota's were better...now my old New Holland is my loaner. The dealer acted like they had never heard of this problem before. kind of makes me wonder if it is a problem they are keeping quiet since it is a new model and motor.
Did the engine speed up? How long did it run? Did it slow down by itself or did you do something to stop it? Did turning the key (shutting off the diesel fuel) have any effect?...... When I reved it up to start working again the exhaust starting smoking, huge power loss and error code 3001 was showing......It is still showing the error code but the red warning light has gone out.......
The engine did not speed up, it slowed down perhaps it went into limp mode? It only ran for a couple of minutes, just so I could get it back into the shop. I could shut it down using the key.
RAZOR...I had a similar experience while blowing snow with my B2650...loss of power and lots of black smoke..In my case the air filter had sucked in a whole pile of snow from the blow back from the blower and the filter was completely coated with 1/4in of ice. I realize your tractor is a different model but any one experiencing power loss and smoke while snow blowing might want to check their air filter.
