Stop at the dealer today, and they got the ok from Kubota to order a complete new motor, computer, and exhaust system. Now they are working to locate the parts and get them here .That is nice to have a Dealer with GREAT SERVICE !!!

A great dealer and a great tractor company !! I would stick close to those guys.

Glad it's developing in that direction. Do you know if the failed engine will be inspected at the dealership? or will it go back to Kubota? It would be useful to know exactly what they think caused it. If a "frozen" crankcase vent can lead to an event like this a redesign/recall may be needed. Beyond the obvious high cost, it is a safety issue - many owners would be tempted to try to intervene.

I was told there is a update kit for the venting system on other models for the freezing problem, but not with the MX5200 yet until mine did it. when I get more info I will post it. With the Fed's making the company's do the tier 4 engine deal it's costing a lot of money to get it right to not have them smoke up the air we breath. But my dealer had a isue with a 7040 too. So I don't know if it is just a fluck that happen to my. But Kubota is standing behind there Equipment on my part so fare.

That's good to hear the dealer and Kubota are standing behind it. Good luck.

I also have a 2014 MX 5200 that did the same exact thing yesterday. Bought 9/2014 with 115 hrs on it. Got away from New Hollands because I thought the Kubota's were better...now my old New Holland is my loaner. The dealer acted like they had never heard of this problem before. kind of makes me wonder if it is a problem they are keeping quiet since it is a new model and motor.

Hi - welcome to TBN, even if you've joined on a crummy occasion. Sorry to hear your MX5200 may have self-destructed like rabcon's. Sent you a private message. Dick B.

I am sure Kubota will stand behind this one as well.

Please do post what you hear. I am hoping to learn more about the venting problem. Does it affect other M models? For instance by "freezing" are they saying it was due to cold weather plus icing? Or is the word "freezing" is being used in the mechanics sense of something not being free to move for mechanical reasons - like a bearing being "froze up"?
Without just a bit more info it's just one of those catchall terms that could mean quite different things.

Kubota was very good about standing up and fixing my backhoe cylinder under warranty some years back. But they flatly refused to say anything at all about what kind of mechanical problem caused the failure in the first place. I never did find out....
So I ended up with a tractor that works fine...and that's good.....but not one bit wiser as to why....

The freezing is as in froozen water or iceing . And from what I was told today at my dealer the update to the venting system will only be addressed if the tractor has the isue like mine had and is a major deal. But all the new units that are being built will have the new update. I am glade they have a fix for the isue and my unit will have the update. But just me thinking , I would think it would save Kubota a lot of money if they would have a call back on all the tractors in cold weather areas fixed or updated.
