My birthday isn't until the 23rd.

I don't really care to celebrate my birthdays, other than the fact I'm still alive, but it gives me an excuse to get something I want with the wife's blessing.:cool2:

Hilbilly if you were in the welding business here in the Puget Sound area, you would need 2 or 3 of everything for back up. There are only two factory authorized repair centers in the whole area. I've had a welder in the repair shop in Seattle since the first of November! Now if I was in the welding business wouldn't that be special to have to wait this long for repairs?

On a positive note; at least they did not, flat out, refuse to work on it because it was an off brand.

I am glad you found the machine for you. Plasma cutting is another way of doing something that was a big step forward for me. It has saved me a *lot* of time and given me a good finish to boot. I doubt if you will be sorry that you spent the money.

Do think about your air source though, it is really important to have clean dry air, and it will probably take a mid-size (2-3 real horsepower) compressor at least to supply the air. I have two sixty gallon air storage tanks and that helps me a lot, as I can cut for 2-3 minutes continuously (which is as long as I have gone) without being concerned about air pressure.

I think I should be ok for air volume. The xp specs state it only needs 4 scfm and my compressor is rated at 11.3 at 90 psi. Not sure about it being dry enough though. I've got a cheap air filter that I picked up from PA and I will attach that to the inlet of the plasma cutter. I'm also going to try some sandblasting for the first time and that will likely tell me if the air is dry enough.

What do you mean​ I'm down to only one! Had the engine rebuilt to my 1966 Red face. Got the engine back last week, but the generator is in the same shop, having dielectric put on it, and a new bearing.
This is the only engine drive I have at home!
