-9 right now...high of 23 today. Up earlier than I should be since it's the weekend. Main chore is to get my wife down to Lebanon NH for some shopping. The forecast is calling for 1-3 inches of snow so there might be some plowing later today or Sunday.
I did get all the gear I need (pump, nozzle, filter, etc.) for a diesel fuel station...should get the drum (from work) in a few days or a week.

A thin blanket of wet snow over the ground this morning.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon harrowing a hay field to level the mole hills and pull out the dead grass. The rules of the agricultural scheme I am in don't allow this after February so I better press on with the others too.
This was the first time I have used an HST tractor for an extended period of field work. Took a little while for me to remember I could just put it in "cruise" on the long runs and then use the foot pedal to cancel at each end. Once I got the hang of things it was real easy.

15.2F @ 06:00 ... with a predicted high of 38F ...

Looks like we have some snow in the forecast.

Woke up around 03:00 when the blower fans went off on the WBF and FPI ... got the WBF cranked up but the FPI is being reluctant. About 59F in the house.

Now that I have the 'bota up and running again, and given the expected high temp, I'm thinking today might be a good day to take down the big ash tree ... before the bottom drops out again.

Will get some things done on the logsplitter ... also have a small welding job to do for a friend.

Hope everyone has a safe and productive day.

good morning everyone. Looks like you all up North aren't going to get to relax this weekend, more snow coming in. My helper shows up late this morning when it gets above freezing, going up to 50 here today, and then we are going to pick up sticks and clear out brush I have cut back in the woods.
I've gained five pounds this winter sitting around cooking and eating and not getting enough exercise.
Will be good to get outside and do some work. And maybe when I make brownies for others I put all of them on the plate instead of quality controlling way too many....

am working on plans for a trip up to PA again in three weeks. I turn 65 March 13 and my sister wants to take me out to dinner, which will be nice. Honestly, I'm going up there to retrieve my new to me dining room table and bringing that home in a Uhaul. It would fit in my eight foot bed, but it's really nice wood and with my luck it would be driving sleet that day. No, in the Uhaul it goes. The table is more modern than I would like, but I am a sucker for nice wood. Now to find chairs that will somewhat match. One of my childhood friends is an early American antiques dealer (not my thing at all...) but he had this table in his basement, just waiting for someone. I likely paid about half what this table is worth; I have helped my friend in the past and he is trying to return the favor. So this is the result of my looking around for tables. I spent what I could have gotten an entire NC made set on the table, but the mass produced stuff looks like just what it is, where this table is someone's piece of art. And now mine. I was the only kid in the academic curriculum in my little high school that took shop straight through senior year. I am hooked on sawdust, like RS is on sparks and welding smoke...

speaking of heating problems, my friend with a two year old home in DE with a Bryant unit:
We've now replaced 2 of the 3 pressure switches. Only one more to go for the trifecta. Oh yes, the gas valve too. All of this just since Thanksgiving.
starts and stops....

9 headed to 33 with snow and sleet today and tonight.

Heading to the "Old Dominion Barn Dance" today...Jimmy Dean's wife is bringing back an old tradition of a Richmond radio show that broadcast nationally back in the 1940s and 50s that rivaled the Grand Old Opry. Tonight's show features Marty Stuart. Should be a hoot.

Drew, that table is a piece of art...never seen that design before. Do you know how old?

It is beautiful wood and woodwork. It's an adaptation of a trestle table design and done nicely so the people sitting on the ends don't have their knees up against the trestles.

Coffee has been poured. 58° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 81° with clear skies in afternoon. Not much planned for the day. Relaxing I guess after wife dragged me to a craft show.
No house monitor calls this morning.
Drew, nice table.
Good Morning All.
