44F heading to a high of 65F, no chance of rain through the end of the month, and light winds. Earlier in the week the weather guesser was predicting rain over next weekend, but apparently that's no longer the case. We're still well below normal for this time of year, just as we are way above normal on temperatures. The reservoirs aren't filling and the Sierra snow pack isn't building, and unless we get a March miracle we'll be in even worse shape water wise than last year.

Speaking of dry, spent last weekend in Death Valley with a bunch of air cooled BMW motorcycle fans, camping, riding, seeing the sites. Highs in the mid 80s, 50s lows, light breeze, in other words perfect camping and eating outside weather. I'm guessing 60-80 folks in attendance, with bikes from 1924-1995 (last year of production). Toured Scotty's Castle, including the basement which featured the original Pelton wheel powered generator and facilities for solar water heating. This was updated in the late twenties with Diesel powered generators when the owner installed a full size theater organ that was thirstier than the old Pelton wheel could support. He also installed a battery bank of over a hundred cells to stabilize the current and eliminate flickering lights, all DC power. Then after all this work the government comes along and tells him that he doesn't own the land, and his parcel is actually over a mile away. So he has to fight for six years in the courts to buy his own land again! Sounds a lot like the stories here on TBN. Guess there's nothing new under the sun.

About 10 outside right now.

It is a snow sky, and the weather people say 1-6 inches for our area.

I am heading out to get some diesel and beer. No TP, bread or milk for me!

-9F right now! The snow ended yesterday, and now the cold moved in... Another lovely day to say the least. On the plus side, I don't work today so I can look out at the cold temps while sitting on my Couch!

Good morning. Woke up to ice this morning. Should not be much problem. Thin and already melting.
I see others not so lucky.

Be careful. Tractors slide on ice too.

34 this morning and headed to 38 today. We got 2-3 inches of snow last night before it changed over to ice. Received a light coating of ice before it started to switch over to rain. Now it's a mess a really heavy slush is now forming. Ground is frozen so it's all going to run into frozen pond and ditches. So now must watch for flooding. The bright spot is we are above freezing.

Plans for today. Uuummmm. Not many. Maybe taxes.

A thin blanket of wet snow over the ground this morning.

Yesterday I spent the afternoon harrowing a hay field to level the mole hills and pull out the dead grass. The rules of the agricultural scheme I am in don't allow this after February so I better press on with the others too.
This was the first time I have used an HST tractor for an extended period of field work. Took a little while for me to remember I could just put it in "cruise" on the long runs and then use the foot pedal to cancel at each end. Once I got the hang of things it was real easy.

Good morning, Eric!
Nice looking tractor. When I was looking at the photo of your tractor with harrow, I noticed that one
of the bolts on the rear wheel appeared to not be fully tightened. Have you checked the torque on
the wheel bolts and nuts? It's the bolt at approximately 3 o-clock, shown with a red arrow in my
attached photo? It might just be my imagination, but certainly worth checking.
