Seven inches of snow temperature of 26 degrees buts that's better than 14 as it was from 7:00 till 10:00 this morning

Six to eight inches of snow this morning. it's supposed to be 50 degrees by now and yet we're going below zero at night this week. I "plow" by driving back and forth in the driveway until things pack down and I just spent the last 45 minutes doing just that and shoveling as little as possible. Dogs loved the snow, however.

wow, dodged that storm, though rain is coming.
Snowing from VA North. Called my MIL in PA to check in, she lives alone and is pretty stoic about these snowstorms.

started off my day well below freezing, and found the doors to the barn iced in. A little application of persuasion pick axe style and it opened, and by the end of the day was entirely melted.

was pleased to find my trail to the pond was almost complete, the pond being iced over gave it a nice white
shine that was easier to see through the woods.

Warmed up to 25 today. Supposed to go back to -10 Sunday night. Helped my wife today, then took the dogs for a walk. That got shortened by a group of turkeys. I didn't want the dogs to see them, so we went back to the house.

The forecast had initially called for 1-3 inches, but now downgraded to <1". Pretty much done now, but I'll still do some clean up work on Sunday.
I did some measuring today. I'll either have to add wings or go for an 84" snow blower before next winter. The 74" blower just isn't wide enough to clear the tires of the 4520.

Not bad outside...about 18. Practically tee shirt weather!

I've been needing to weed eat the winter weeds that grow up around the edges of stuff. Fueled up my weedeater and saw a tiny fuel leak and suspected the hoses. Ended up needing to replace the tiny fuel breather but no one in town had one. I cleaned it real good and replaced my fuel hoses "while I was in there" on my 13 year old Shindaiwa multi tool engine. The old hoses were still good but I have a whole reel of the good stuff kind of hose. Saint Gobain Tygon. Will pick up the small breather when in Bryan next week. Ordered a new complete weed eater lower attachment for it. I found it online for $89. no tax, free shipping. The old weedeater lower attachment still works but the guard broke off last year and the head has 13 plus years of hard use on it. The new lower will have Shindaiwa's speed head which I've heard are awesome for loading new string. I'll put it up against any brand. They are so good that Echo bought them out a few years ago. Motor still purrs like new.

I gotta look into one of those. Putting new line in is a major pia. And different makes do it in different ways! :(

They aren't the cheapest but they are as good as anything else IMO. There are some on sale online if you search. the $89 is just the lower tube, speed head and guard (straight shaft model). The speed head alone sells for about $32 or so.
