Loosen the jaws of the nozzle. Perhaps putting it on a little loose and applying pressure to keep it tight.
Several things on my mind. First I HATE that black grease. It's hard to get it off your hands. Is it any better though? There are so many kinds of grease, I even bought this super expensive Food Grade grease that I used for a project up at the pond. If I guess that greasing with almost any grease is a million times better then no grease, would I be right?
I saw a nice grease nozzle at an auto parts store (not expensive) and replaced the one on my cheap electric gun I bought at TSC. It just seemed to hold on the zerks nicely. A neighbour of mine came over with his MF 265, maybe with a leon loader. He was having trouble greasing the loader. I believe it's the top of the bucket cylinders but the zerks are in a cage of sorts with just enough of a round hole to get the grease nozzle into. Greasing was easy, getting the **** thing off was nearly impossible! That nozzle, or maybe any that lock on, seem to require moving the nozzle off to an angle to get them off, but in this case you couldn't. I undid the nozzle to relieve pressure, but this was of no help. Eventually I just rigged up a pry bar and pulled like crazy on the hose, being left with little other options and it came off. Anyone have any tips on this?
What do you mean by ineffective?
Grease comes out when the lever moves, to me that is effective.
It is rated at 10,000 psi. If there is a stubborn zerk, I lock the hose on, hold the gun with the hose pointed down, put the gun against my chest, put both hands on the extended lever and pull as hard as I can. So far the grease always goes in.
My 18v Lincoln is rated at 7,500 psi, for comparison.
all the grease guns I have you can adjust the end by turning it so it isn't to hard to get off some Zerks.
So on this whole grease gun thing, I hate my manual pump version and have been looking at a Milwaulkee (I have a bunch of battery milwalukee so). Question I have for the group is maybe I am just friggin messy but how do these tools take to all the grease? I mean the battery must just be a sticky mess after a while? That is my thing as I use the batteries on tools that work wood.
GMIslander I have been thinking about getting one also but held of because I wasn't sure if it was any good . I see it is on sale now .I got one of these 18 Volt Cordless Grease Gun | Princess Auto on sale a year ago and it is the best also the long hose is great around the tractor.
