Here is 2 more pics I found. I know they don't show much. It looks like a log splitter type valve. I'm wondering what type a guy would need to be able to operate both cylinders. One retracting and one extending.if anyone has any ideas thanks in advance.

you do realize that to get 1 cyl to retract while the other extends, using one valve, all you do is switch the pressure / return lines on one cyl ....

there is no magic valve. the valve directs flow one way or the other.. the magic, if any, is in the plumbing..... have the pressure out from the valve hit a Y, have one side of the Y pressurize the lift side of one cyl, and the drop of the other... etc.. etc..

I appreciate all the help by the way.

I was pretty sure that was how it would work but I wanted to be sure. So pretty much any dual acting like this one would work?

Work for what?

You started with a picture of a power steering valve.

I thought that's what it was but If you look at the 2 other pics I posted of the same tractor it isn't a power steering valve.

Ok, I see now, he is using it like a drag link control valve.

This is a close up of the connection to the valve. The treads showing below the valve connection is part of the 3/4' bolt that is used just for mechanical support and will move in and out as the valve is actived.

This is showing the rear mounting of the left side hydraulic cylinder. The right side cylinder is mounted the same and I have connected the two cylinders in series so that as pressure is applied to one cylinder its output is used to drive the other cylinder the same distance.

Thank you for finding that. I've been searching for the description but all I found was the pics. Do you think the valve I linked would work?

Looks like it is a 6 port instead of a 4 port like he used.
