Legal to open carry a pistol on a bicycle in your state?

Here in Tennessee requires permit to Carry when outside your property boundry. Does not make any difference whether waking, in motor vehicle, or bicycle or open carry or concealed. Having just recently gone through the process to carry, I think it is a reasonable law. The class had a good mix of people with varied familiarity with guns and some that had owned guns for years had questions and comments about safety and responsibilty that suprised me.

As for the women that wish to go armed while riding bicycle, take the training and get the permit. There are some very good options for CC. Even wearing Sapndex, a light weight cotton blouse/shrit would cover a good fitting shoulder rig or inside waist band.

I personally long felt the permit fees charged for CCW are just a MONEY GRAB by authorities who are desperate to raise operating funds, much like charging you permit fees to alter your home. Locally here if I want to replace a window in my house they want me to pay for a permit and inspection unless the window I am installing is an EXACT size match for one I am replacing and no carpentry work is required. What a farce permit fees are.

I fully agree with the money grab.I think it will get worse in the future as the city and townships will need more money to operate.

That does seem high. Although most online info for TN lists a set price for new permit and renewal, the term & cost of initial permit is based on your driver license renewal year. Cost for intial is $28/year (could be 4 -7 yr) so renewal is done same time as DL. Renwal is 12.50/yr. If you don't have a DL then permit is on 4 year renewal.

Here in South Carolina, the fee for a CWP is $50 for a three year permit, renewable online or by mail. That's reasonable in my opinion. I think a fee such as this is fair. Without an agency to regulate this, anyone, whether qualified or not, could carry a weapon in public places. You have to balance individual rights with public safety. Requiring adults to take a short course in safety, checking their criminal background, and issuing a permit to allow concealed carry seems wise. The alternative would be no restrictions at all, and I think that is foolish. Let's admit, many people don't have enough sense to carry a firearm. $ 50 for three years is minimal. The people who want to carry pay for the program and personnel to administer it. What's wrong with that?

Yes sir pistols and all long arms.I guess if you mean we have to fill out paperwork to get approved to purchase a firearm than yes.

You do not have to register long guns in Michigan.

I can't find the newer rate online now, I did come across it last month when wife & I were in process of applying for the permit. What comes up in the state info does list only the 4 year term @ 115 for initial and $50 renewal, but my DL was up for renewal this coming August so they renewed that for the $19.50 for 5 years the charged me $140 for the 5 year carry permit. My wife was charged $115 for 4 years because he DL will expier in 4 years.
There is a new rate posted online, but I can't find it now.

No.

If they really want to mess with her, the will see her main line of defense and take action to remove it. If they do not know she is armed, and they decide to mess with her, she has surprise on her side. Surprise gets into their OODA loop and messes them up. If the bad guys see her weapon, they will do things to get inside her OODA loop. They would almost certainly do this anyway, and her main line of defense is the hidden weapon, not one that is open and obvious.

If she is going to carry, the weapon needs to be securely attached to HER, not the bike. If she is attacked, she and the bike will quickly be separated.

She also had better know the use of force laws.
