When I first start my tractor I get white smoke. What causes that? The smoke starts while cranking and stops almost as soon as the tractor starts.
White smoke can also mean a lean condition, check to make sure your fuel filter isn't getting plugged.

I think what he meant was (and I am also curious as well) why a lean out condition results in a white smoke?White smoke can mean a "leaned out" condition... A plugged or nearly plugged fuel filter will cause a leaned out condition... (not enough fuel getting through the filter)
It's another thing to check, NOT the only thing that can cause white smoke...
