Seriously, you are comparing MVAs to shootings? And implying that gun deaths are not a big deal because "more people are killed by automobiles"????
I obviously am not in favor of arming cyclists. We don't need more guns floating around, falling out of purses, being grabbed and fired by young children or being used "to make a point". And please, stop with the inane "women should be able to choose" baloney. Do you also believe they should be able to choose what to do with their bodies or do you put limits on those rights when they conflict with your beliefs?
We've had three or four children and at least one mother killed in the past couple of months by handguns their parents did not properly secure. Those guns really did a great job protecting the family eh? How many cycling women's lives have been taken in that same period? Zero as best I can tell. So exactly who is going to be protected by bringing more guns into play? Before advocating for more guns on the roads, how about some data that might support such a recommendation.
