Tractor
in market
Hellos all. I'm looking at going with a mahindra for use at our new house. We moved in October to 7.5 acers with a 800' gravel drive, about 2.5-3 acres of mowable yard, couple acers of brushlot and the rest woods. There is a 40x80 pole barn with 10' ceilings (but they put a 9' overhead door in!!). So I have tractor experience ffrom a previous job and grwoig up rural anyway. Dad had a 20hp allis for a while. I installed a pellet stove when we moved in. And am out 3 miles away is a 40acre hunting lease.

So my planned tasks would be snow removal, ground and drive maintinace, brush mowing, possible finish mowing and I would like to be able to offload 4-5 tons of pellets each year from a truck or trailer and shuttle them to the barn then bring one ton at a time up to the garage for use.

I have looked at specs on the 4010 but the dealer says they stopped making them. I don't need/want a deluxe tractor really just one that will handle the tasks. Would a 4010 atctualy lift one ton from say 48" then lower it to 6-8" for the trip to/from storage? I know a counter ballast would be needed. As for filled tires I'd be more apt to use weights that could be removed for summer mowing.

So with those specs what model would suit me? And no cab, I'd just blow the windows out and don't have funds for that. This purchase may wait a year or two due to a wedding and such this year. Thanks in advance

My best guess on lifting a ton, No., not quite. Load would have to be real close to the pins. If you take a few bags off, you should be able to do it.
If you cheat the relief valve a bit, it will probably lift the ton.
Should lift +1,500 plus, as long as you had a QA fork attachment, not bucket forks, then yes I think it would.

Kioti DK has a Loader that will lift a ton. So will the 5010, then some.

4025 or a 4530 if you can still find one. If you want serious lifting power the 10 series is not for you.

If you need to lift a ton on a pallet and want to stay in the compact class of tractor, I would go with the 3540 or 2555, both will need ballast. I have customers with the older versions of these tractors lifting a ton on a pallet with no problem.

Let me ask this then. They are rated to full height at pin. With forks on the ssqa and weighted correctly could a loader with less capacity to full height still lift off a low trailer say a car hualer height? And if so could it drive it a few inches off the ground on flat ground?

It really all depends on how the weight is distributed on the pallet and if the load will be able to be curled. How much lower capacity are you thinking?

Loading the tires will also greatly improve your lifting capabilities

Maybe something rated closer to 1800-1900 to full height. Yes loaded or wheel weights and a ballast box or implement on the rear. I can get pellets delivered for a good price but they would need offloaded by hand and stacked then moved again when needed then ultimately again into the house. The last one is by hand no matter what. But if I can go get the load on a trailer that is lower to the ground than a flatbed truck I would not need to lift as far. And could even drive into the barn and limit travel with the tractor until they are needed at the house. Another option is a 3 pt fork set up. What are the thoughts on that? How high can they lift approximately? I'm sure each tractor would be different depending on tires and such. Thanks for the helps you far guys

So your saying each load will be a ton? Even with a 3pnt Hyd. Toplink your gona have trouble with height IMO

Yes each load would be #2000. What's lift height 24"?

i have a 3016. It is rated for 1600 lbs. It lifts logs closer to 1700 about 3' high. Based on this, I believe Mahindra's ratings are accurate. Lift is only part of the picture I'd be looking at. If you are "walking" a ton, I'd opt for a larger tractor than the 10 series even though it will probably lift it. Whatever they are calling the 4035 series these days, I'd go no smaller. Wheel weights are going to be expensive as you would want at least a eight hundred to a thousand Lbs of those. Taking them on and off is not the kind of thing that puts a grin on your face either. It is why people load tires as you will pay half or less of what weights cost. If you are going to cut field grass, loaded industrial tires on dry terrain will not do much harm . If you are thinking in terms of manicured lawn, get something else to cut the grass other than a tractor of this size..
