Sunny and in the 40's today so we are losing snow. But there is a storm forecast for the weekend that may "replace" what has been melted.

Most winters Dorchester Cove will be frozen over for a few days in February, if ever. Here we are second week of March.

The tidal swing here is about 10' so the ice cracks near shore as the tide goes out.

If you want salt ice to keep your beer cold, well, doesn't look like you need to rush over. Still a foot thick.

I went to a funeral in Bath Maine on the weekend with my wife and daughter. I don't ever recall the coast looking like it does right now with all the ice in the marsh lands and such. Pretty neat to look at.

I bet. Last March I drove to Machias, ME to pick up a puppy. Even then, with much less snow on the ground, the saltwater ice flows and arches left behind in the coastal rivers and inlets at low tide looked like something out of a fairytale. I'm sure they're even more spectacular this year.

BOSTON (AP) - Boston's miserable winter is now also its snowiest season going back to 1872.
The official measurement of 108.6 inches at Logan International Airport Sunday night topped a season record of 107.9 inches set in 1995-96, according to the National Weather Service in Taunton, Mass.
The final 2.9 inches came in a snowstorm that was relatively tame after a record-setting monthly snowfall of 64.9 inches in February.
The worst previous single month was January 2005 when 43.3 inches fell.
This official winter snowfall, measured from December through February this year, was 99.4 inches. That was the snowiest for the winter period, beating 91.5 inches in 1993-94.
The season snowfall record is measured from July 1 through June 30, and takes in autumn and spring.
Forecasters note snow can still mount up this year. March 1993 had 38.9 inches, and March 1916 had 33.

Was wondering where the snow total stood now. Thanks for the update. And congratulations, Boston! Or something.

It had rained on and off all weekend, then around 4pm a new front came in, the temp dropped from 39 to 29 and it snowed quite hard for a couple hours.

Boston was 0.7" behind Buffalo, but NOAA reports Buffalo at 103" so not sure where that was recorded. Erie, PA had 104" for 6th place.

NOAA totals through Sunday 3/15 midnight.

Worcester, MA 115.6
Boston 108.6
