GC1710 vs GC1720

There are a bunch of small differences like that. The price difference between the 1705/1710 and 1715/1720 should be about $1600 USD...which should be a little under $2K Canadian.

Hi Guys-
I have narrowed my choice down to the 1710/1720. No one in a 4 state area has a 1720 that I could buy. I have a bid and can get a 1710 for $16000. I have NOT seen this tractor in person, but have looked at orange,Green, and another red one. This seems to be the best tractor for me. Who here has one that could advise? Should I get the 10, or wait for a 20?

Seems crazy to me. I would not make a purchase this large sight unseen!
I want the 1720, however I also want one that has the new DL96 loader and CB65 backhoe. Problem is, I can't find one, only the older backhoe. To me, it is a much improved loader and backhoe. May just settle with the 1710 and change the seat to the much nicer 1720 one..... not sure if the little exra HP would make much difference anyway.

Hold out for the tractor & setup that you want ... It's a big investment.

I am currently stuck on GC1720 vs Mahindra max 24. There is a dusting of Kubota in there, but I just cant quite determine what I want. It seems the Mahindra will be a stronger tractor, but the fit and finish is lacking. They just seem cheap to me in person. I dont know if this should bug me, but it does. If its rusting on the dealer yard, what is going to look like after I've had it a while?

This might be my first post! Great forums here btw. Been looking at SCUT's for about a year now, more seriously the last 2 months. I've looked at the Kubota BX25 Mahindra Max 22-28 JD 1025 and the MF 1710. I have 0 tractor experience and having played with all 4 here are my takeaways for what they are worth
all models were HST TLB...need factory financing but not into the 0%...take $ upfront longest loan with good down pay and payoff ASAP
hated the BX...pedals were awkward loader seemed slower and generally seemed "cheaper"...didn't even price not the one for me
Mahindra 26 and barely used 28 these are too big although this was the initial attraction in that you get a lot more rig for the money IMO They seemed like solid heavy machines the would easily out work the others and are priced in with the smaller higher end tractors
I liked the 22/24 they were easy to use and should be very capable for my needs fwd rev pedal was a little uncomfortabel and they seemed to run rougher and louder..also I looked at 3 different dealers and they all look beat up for being new...using 84 mos at 3.99 26xl at about $22k and 24xl in the $19-$19500 range
JD 1025 certainly the nicest looking and most comfortable loader didn't seem as crisp as the Mahindra but machine ran smoother and quieter and they have more creature comforts and ease of use features. Like the auto connect deck but this ads $3k+ to the $20500 CASH PRICE (get your own financing) for the TLB...ouch too much
1710 and 1720 friend has a 1720 which I was able to test but is seemingly unavailable in my location within my timeframe to purchase but I really liked it second to the JD in comfort and fit/finish and controls are great. I am going tomorrow to see the 1710 which was quoted by phone at $16250 with 84mos at 3.5%. Assuming the 10 isnt dramatically different from the 20, this seems like a no brainer at more than $3k less than the Mahindra.
Final thoughts...down to the Max 24 and the 1710 (or a 1720 with luck) although MF is slighly less powerful than the Max, assuming I'm looking at the right class for my needs, the 1710 is a nicer ride for way less money

I decided on the GC1710 for a few reasons:
- It would have been late August till I got the 1720 due to stock
- The 1720 needs to have RPM's around 350+ more than the 1710 to achieve the correct PTO speeds. I prefer the lower RPM's of the 1710
- The 1720 seat is nicer and is $1200.00 from Massey! I did find a similar seat online for about $250.00 which I will buy.
- Rear lights have a metal guard, from Massey they are about $35.00 each so I bought them for the 1710.
- 1720 has the rear work light on these guards. I will do the same on the 1710
That really is the only difference, so I saved $1700.00 and went with the GC1710. I did look at other brands, but my GC2310 was so rock solid I just didn't see the point in switching brands. And the new GC's have a full 5 year warranty as well !
