Like others said depends on who makes the Mahindra your looking at. I have seen some that had a nice fit and finish and others had paint and stuff fading new on lot. They say there a big seller in the US but I rarely ever see any. I wonder what part of the US they are a big seller in? Here its all Deere or Kubota. I think of all the manufacures that are newer to the US Kioti is the one im most impressed with. LS seems to be okay also.

The Mahindras built by Mitsubishi have fine quality and are very popular both new and used here in New York.
They do sell used for much less than Kubota, John Deere, etc. in this neck of the woods.

After MTD bought Cub Cadet, Mitsubishi had a falling out with MTD management. Mitsubishi stopped rebadging tractors for MTD; the reason the last round of Cub Cadets were made by Yanmar.
Mahindra did not have a compact tractor in the lineup and allied with Mitsubishi to make the 15 series. This was a huge shot in the arm for Mahindra. The 15 series is one of the most reliable in the lineup. Mahindra has made millions from selling a 'rerun' tractor. MTD turned out to be the loser.

I'm not sure if Mahindra built my Max 28 but the engine is definitely a Mitsubishi. It has the Mitsubishi logo on the hood and the engine.

Agree. I've had good luck with Kubota's, and from what I've seen, Kioti are impressive too. I'll repeat, with any make, it's good to do due diligence by searching for "issues" on-line. As an example, some smaller Deere's don't have a straight-thru rear axle, each stub axle is supported by an aluminum cased gearbox and the lower pivot of the 3-point hitch arms are mounted to an aluminum flange - they crack and break. One would ask, what the H --- were they thinking? These smaller Deeres were made in India. Massey Ferguson has a smaller model, also Indian I think, that has too short a spline shaft driving the hydraulic pump --- the splines shear off. Newer versions have been fixed, there's never been a recall - an expensive fix when it goes. Some of Kubota's BX series have a plastic hydro cooling fan that a stick poking up there can break - labor intense to replace. There's lots more examples of crappy engineering out there, and it's good when a manufacturer stands up and says, "We goofed and we'll fix it free". BUT, unfortunately, with no oversight laws (like there are with autos in the US) they have little incentive to do the right thing . . . warranties are relatively short, and so most of them don't stand behind manufacturing defects that show up later.

look on the frame on the left side behind the front wheel. I bet you see a plate that says "Made for Mahindra by Mitsubishi Motors."..with serial number, etc

Not surprisingly, Mitsubishi, does have a plant in India.
