Magnum Research 45 Colt

Walked in to a lgs and found one in 45 colt 410. Does anybody have one. Does the choke tube come out for the colt bullet. Does that mess the threads up.

From description on "product" page: It is designed to be shot in the field for hunting small game. It will fire 3" or 2.5" .410 shot shells. It has a removable choke tube that will deliver a Modified choke pattern at 30 yards. Choke must be removed when shooting .410 slugs or 45LC ammo.

From specification page: The .45LC/.410 caliber has modified choke and wrench included.

Not sure why anything would mess up the threads ? Surely it was designed to be fired that way ?

If it's like my Contender, as long as you clean it properly you won't have any problem. Firing a slug or rifle round can jam it up. Although comparing the two guns may be like apples to oranges.

Thank you for checking that for me. What I could find on my phone was the same directions as what came with it. The thing that confused me is there is two choke tubes with it. When I took the tube out the threads just looked so vulnerable. I called the dealer and he wasn't real sure. So thanks for the help.

Measure the bore diameter on both tubes. One may actually not be a choke tube but a thread protector. Otherwise you have a spare.

I see this revolver is also chambered in .450 Marlin.
That would hurt.

Yes it looks like it's chambered for a bunch of hurtful calipers. The big draw for me was twofold. I have a rifle chambered for 45 colt. And the 410 seems just right for snakes and opossums. It came with a big holster that will hang nicely on the tractor, mule ,or my saddle.

I've got to believe one is the choke and one is a thread protector when shooting slugs or .45. That's what the Circuit Judge comes with as well. Do the two look any different at all?
