I've got to believe one is the choke and one is a thread protector when shooting slugs or .45. That's what the Circuit Judge comes with as well. Do the two look any different at all?
No they look the same. I don't have a mic to check it. And there's no marks on them to identify them. I also found another wrench to fit the chokes. I guess I will wait and call MR tomorrow. I hate to mess it up.

I've tried some googling, and not having any better luck than you did. I see mention of "the choke", which would sure seem singular, yet you got two.

On the Circuit Judge, the choke is kind of slotted like, where the thread protector is smooth bore. The intent of the way the choke is made is to somewhat halt the rotation from the rifling in the barrel so you don't get quite as much of a donut pattern when shooting shot.

I've tried it with the smooth thread protector to compare. It seems to me the choke certainly helps, but I still find it donuts some. I would think it may be better with your handgun, as you don't have as long of a rifled barrel to get the wad spinning. I would be interested to hear if you see much donut effect when you try shot shells.

Both of these have rifling inside the chokes. I shot some #9 shot that the gave me. At about 15' it blew a 2" hole with a bunch of shot scattered around it. But I really want to try the 45 colt side of it

That sounds pretty good. I saw on one site they mentioned the choke countering the spin, but didn't give any details. Seems it works though!

I did find another place where they were being a little negative, saying "the barrel threads for the screw in chokes filled with debris" and they didn't like that. It does sound like you just remove choke for slugs and .45, but you're right to check with them first.

I will primarily use shot shells for snakes and possums but I still want to see how the 45s shoot.

I too would consider acquiring one in the same clambering. Please follow up with your findings regarding the tubes and a review of the revolver.

I haven't heard much good about Magnum Research and their gas operated semi auto pistols. Hope fully they can get this one right. Must be strong if it can handle a cartridge like the .450.

Right now I'm not real impressed with it. I have 5,5 shot groups with it. Each round the cylinder would hang up on the fourth or fifth shot. This messes everything up when you got the concentration going on. So I took it apart today and cleaned it really well. There was some burnt powder on the back of the frame and the cylinder was filthy. I then shot 1 5 round group with no hang up. Then I tried rotating the cylinder on spent shells. It would not cock. So I don't know if it's heat or dirt doing it. The pic is of the best group at 50 yds. This is off a sandbag rest. The rest were so scattered they wouldn't fit in a pic.

I have the 1911 G model in 45acp and it has been a dream. It was a bargain for about $650. Prior to that I had a DE in 44 Mag, but it needed an adjustable gas system to be reliable, which means you would best develop your own hand loads that provide for reliable cycling. Factory loads are not the right way to go. In the end got rid of it and replaced it with a longer barreled TC Contender that was lighter in weight for hunting.

Check if the primers are protruding from the brass. That can hang up a cylinder fast.
