get the heaviest per linear foot just to cover your tire tracks. So 8' or 7.5' is what you need. pull-type offset. Don't bother with 3 pt., waste of time, hard on the hitch.
Normally, heavy discs need 10-15 HP per linear foot.
I don't quite understand your post.You say to get 7.5-8' pull type, off set disk as heavy as possible. This normally takes 10-15 hp per foot width according to you. This guy has a 50hp tractor, so by your post he should be getting at the maximum a 5' wide disk and yet you recommend much larger.
Please clarify for others.
