Fluid or Weights???

Have to disagree with you there. On a JD 5045E you can only put two 95Lb weights on per wheel for a total of 380 on the rear and part of that weigh is above the center of gravity all the time. Plus the weighs make a place for dirt salt and moisture to hide in allowing your rims to rust prematurely. The same tractor with 13.6X28 R1s holds 920 lbs of'Rimguard'/ beet juice and the c.o.g. of that load is all below the COG of the tractor. Just My :2cents:

Problem is it's not an ideal world.
Center of gravity is a non issue . The center of gravity is changed more by the amount of fuel in the tank. And if the driver is skinny or a fat &$$. The sloshing of liquid ballast is more liable to flip the tractor.I'm not buying the story that only two weights 95lb per rear wheel fits. A set of dry tires with 920lbs of cast ballast will pull more and ride better than the same tires with 920bs of liquid weight.

Hey I don't know for sure as I was just going by JDs build your own site where they have wheel weights and front suitcase weights as an option and there it says two max per side. Who you gonna believe?

On my tractor my 250 lbs in the seat doesn't amount to much nor does the 100 lbs or so of fuel usually in the tank. On the other hand those four inch spacers ain't made out of goose feathers and the ice chains on the tires and the log chains wrapped around the 3PH probably go better then 300 total. Now if I'm on my neighbors L2800 that only weighs 2400 and does not have loaded tires my 250 can put the tire back down after she with insufficient mass to her A@@ has tipped it up with one rear in the air.

Sloshing of liquid ballast will flip a tractor?????????? Glen your so FUNNY.:D

You should read in operators manual that manufacturer recommends adding liquid ballast

Point is sloshing is as much of a COG factor as liquid vs cast ballast, zilch.

At 11 pounds per gallon beet juice is probably as thick as maple syrup and not very prone to sloshing.

Sloshing liquid is an issue with tanker trucks. That's why they put baffles in them. There's isn't enough room in a tractor tire or enough speed for the liquid to gain any momentum to have much change in the COG.

Exactly. Maybe a few ounces splash up over the rim, but the majority of it is going to stay down. And assuming it is properly filled to 75%, the vast majority of it is at or below the axle line, so it has lowered the overall COG of the tractor considerably. Width of the track and COG is of the utmost importance to stability on a hill.
