Good morning guys, My wife and I used our new chipper/shredder yesterday. It worked assume!

Oh by the way Dave. They call a call center over around Drew. Then the call center calls me. But that should change next week. I have a new alarm system showing up. I don't know the details yet of it but I'll let you know what changes.

Years ago we had a power and temperature monitor at a cottage that would call home if it got below temp or power was out. Not programmable and no way would it have been capable of monitoring barns in multiple points and parameters.

It would call three different phone numbers in succession and keep calling until someone answered. Or, I could call it and get the current temp and power status. It was powered by the land line phone wires.

Thanks David.

I read that the lava flow has slowed down considerably but is still unpredictable as to where or when it might resume.

I'm going to dig enough snow out to get our fence gate open, then relax.

I never thought about companies that specialize in poultry production equipment. Makes sense though.

Not many chicken houses in operation in this area. You see single 3-story chicken barns here and there left over from earlier days.

There is a huge egg facility about 60 miles south of here. It was DeCoster Egg Farms but he was always in trouble for something. Jack DeCoster, I think he's been run out of about three states now.

He had immigrant workers living on-site in old mobile homes with failing sewer systems, lack of running water, some animal cruelty issues, etc. It seems like if there was a good way and bad way to do something, he chose the bad way.

That's a great chipper/shredder!! Bearcat (Crary) make's them, and Woods Equipment also sells them under their brand name. I have the Woods version (Woods 5000).
There is a blower kit available too, if you're interested in putting chips in a certain area or a trailer. It's about a thousand bucks, IIRC. For that money, I'm OK with dropping the chips under the implement.

Good evening all. 36F and sunny, forecast was for strong wind, 55F and rain. Made it to church, 2 hour trip to Cape Girardeau to visit stepson and back. Tired
