Tractor
Mahindra
Hi all, I currently own a New Holland 4630 4wd. I use it in 153 acres for planting food plots, loader work, brush hogging, maintaining large network of logging roads and many other projects. Tractor is getting up in hrs., so I'm thinking of trading it in an buying a Mahindra MPower 85 4wd. Have not seen many reviews on this tractor. I know this is a new model for Mahindra but I'm hoping to get some information before making the purchase. thank you.

Considering the same thing once I start haying. Beautifully put together machine, wonderful sounding Perkins' diesel, I don't think they come much more ready to work... Are you looking at cab model, or open station?

Open station model. Reason a lot of my work is on logging roads in the woods. Engine is tier 4 without the DPF.

Yea, from what I've seen Mahindra, Bosch, and Perkins all partnered together and invested millions in building newer better engines when everyone else was slapping DPF on older designs. Everyone else is just starting to research doing the same.

I'm thinking because of it's weight and hp the MPower 85 should be able to handle a 4 bottom plow.

My 40HP 4035HST handles a 2 bottom 16" moldboard, so I'd say probably so.

I don't know of one tier 4 final engine that they just slapped a DPF on. All I have seen are brand new designed engines. Trust me if the engine has no DPF, it still has other stuff that can break. They are not the same as Tier 3 engines. They all have some emissions equipment. AGCO also has Tier 4 engines with no DPF. All of the non DPF engines appear to be on larger 75+ hp tractors that I can see.

Every one of Mahindra's tier4 units have no DPF, even the small ones.

The Mahindra engines 33 to 75 horsepower are tier IV final. Not sure if the Mpower 85 engine is final, never got a defining answer.

I know when the original literature came out on it, it was listed as interim.
