What does the other end of the dipper cylinder look like. Does it have a ridged mount or can it flex around a through pin?

Thanks for the advice, I'm planning to call Trot's to see what their take is. Was going to bring the original broken piston to them, but they said they'd have to send it out for a fix. But they are closer, cheaper to get it there, and they just might know someone who has had something like this happen. The other end of the cylinder has a pin fit as well, not sure if it could flex. I had that pin out at the shop and he welded the washer arm back onto it, looked just fine. The pin I mentioned above in my post is the one that connects the dipper frame to the boom frame, a bit more substantial than the ones that hold the cylinder ends in place, also has a grease fitting in the middle of it. Again, thanks for your feedback! I had a neighbor mention most likely the same person that was your go to guy, was his as well. Seems like there are some shoes in need of filling!

Yes there are. Another craftsman that made me a new sheet metal bottom for my sugaring arch has been through a divorce and moved south. Any of the fabrication/ repair trades could do alright here as there is little real competent competition.
