Good morning!!!!

good morning all.

55 degrees going up to mid sixties.
Pretty good dose of rain yesterday and last night.
Buppies, you got one big dose, I got three.

They predicted .5 to .8 inches of rain and my rain gauge says 2.68 inches of rain. That's Sodamo's kind of precip and it floods everything here. I'd say my hard applied grass seed is somewhere out in the Pamlico River right now.
A bit worried to look out this morning when the sun comes up to see what things look like.
Well, I won't have to water any plants for a while; almost three inches of water does the trick.
The fence people are due back this morning and I hope the orchard is not under water.
I could always let them work from my boat...;)

hey, at least the pollen should be low today. Probably too wet to do much outside today, though might take my boat down to the marina and entertain anyone there with my loading ramp clumsiness.

46 out and dry. More rain coming through.

Late night steaks and dinner with the girls. Celebrated another b-Day. Wow. Only time we are all together is celebration time. Still working on the floors, maybe this weekend returning to painting. Need to get rest, back is not right.....

Have a great day all!

Sent a brief note to my brother, who owns an accounting firm in my home town of New Hope PA,
as I do each year on this day, offering him congrats for surviving another year.
He works 12 hours a day for almost three months at least six and often seven days a week before today.
In a small town every one wants to seem him personally though he has two other cpa's there.
A good business, unless someday we get flat taxes...and even then.

And then goes sailing in the BVI's to relax. An accomplished blue water sailor though down there he has said for almost thirty years now chartering sailboats that they just go from one bar to the next...
I've chartered a 48 foot powerboat in the BVI's and one can see the next island over so it's easy going.
He does two big sailing trips a year, one with his four or five buddies, and one with family.
My older brother had a 32 Morgan sailboat for a while, so all three brothers are boaters/sailors.
And my favorite uncle was a Naval Captain of a destroyer, so I have some water in my veins along with farmer dirt.
Good thing my filters work...;)

time to get moving

42F. Around 60 today with clear skies. Great weather.

We are on the northern edge of a Fire Danger advisory area today. Low humidity and gusts to 25 mph. Still a lot of snow on the ground here anywhere it is shaded by the trees. Further south and southern NH are bare now.

More dinking with the baseboard project for a couple hours today.

Poured fist cup of coffee. 46° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 64° (Tulsa, OK) with light rain and chance of thunderstorms late in the day. Drove to Amarillo, TX instead of Lubbock, TX yesterday. It was a nice day and enjoyed the drive. Should be another good day for travel.
Good Morning All.

Good morning, 41F heading to 61F. Got some touch up painting done around the house, just repairing imperfections on the walls. Dog threw up last night before bed, looks like he is gobbling his food and swallowing it without chewing. Wife is buying him a special bowl that is suppose to slow him down. Hope it is going to work.

Good morning! A cold 51˚ but climbing to the 70 with lots of sun.

Eric - The Prickly Pear Cactus will be blooming in a few weeks - stand-by for pretty flower pictures.

KevT was sooo close. We have 2 type of nettles 1. a stinging nettle which has tiny purple flowers and no seeds and
#2 the big bad one Cnidoscolus Texannus or Bull Nettle.

About three miles down the road I saw a sign posted on some property that said:
WARNING CNIDOSCOLUS TEXANNUS INFESTATION KEEP OUT

I will try to gather the seed pods again this year and let you know what they taste like. I have no picture of the seed but Here is one I found. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6087/6068297026_4977a33500.jpg

Here are the pictures of my painful flowering Bull Nettle on the hill. If you touch it with your ankle it feels like a hundred fire ants bitting you and the skin will whelp up and be very red. It has a long tap root so cutting it does not kill it and it is the last to die in a drought.

53 headed to 66 and partly sunny. Need some drying out time.

Don, we have nettle here, but glad none of that Bull nettle. Sounds rough.

Anybody picked up a pair of those free John Deere work gloves promoted in their flyer? Any good? I'm not sure a free pair of gloves is worth getting tempted by all the nice tractors and implements at the dealer. :) I do need a filter for my Stihl, which they sell, so maybe I've rationalized my way there since I'll be driving by today.
