I have a 90 gallon 12v transfer tank on my truck now but years ago when I didn't I had one of those overhead 250 gallon or so gravity feed tanks. I see them all the time locally on Craigslist for a couple hundred bucks. The fuel coop would come fill it for the same price as it was at the pump. I got clear diesel not the red and then I used it in my truck as well. It was nice being able to fill up at home.

I know by looking they are out of my price range. It does look good though. I emptied my savings buying the Kubota, so this is not an option.

The simple solution is to put what ever you are using for fuel storage into the FEL, raise it till it is a bit higher than your fuel tank and then siphon it out and into your tractor tank. A simple piece of garden hose will work for real cheap OR buy one of the self priming siphon hoses with the check valve on the end that you dunk up and down in your container to prime.
Personally I use a 100 gallon steel tank mounted on swivel caster wheels and a 12 volt 15 GPM pump with a 20 ft delivery hose with auto shut off. If the hose wont reach, I can still move the tank easily. I also have 275 gallon TOTE Tank as a backup fuel supply. It currently has about 200 gallons of diesel in it that I stocked up when fuel prices tumbled.

Lots of great ideas. However, for simple and cheap, 50 years ago on the farm we just used an oversized metal funnel. Here is what appears to be the current version:

Well the fact that I "Semi Retired" 2 years ago and now only work 45-60 hours a week, I only get about 10 hours a week of tractor time. With an 11 gallon fuel tank, that will last me over a month. So I am going to get another 14 gallon caddy and use the FEL. That makes the most sense for me. I do feel stupid for not thinking of that myself, and Thank you guys for suggesting it. I will have to put a longer hose on the caddy to make it reach, but even I can work a hose clamp. :thumbsup:

I have one of those but then you can't see when it is full and it spills out making a mess.

I got real lazy. My driveway is a 1/4 mile long to a state highway. I talked a gas station company into building a gas station at the end of my driveway and carry diesel too. (Actually they had the idea but i didn't oppose it.) I just have to watch and make sure I have enough diesel to make it to the end of my driveway which can be a little more in the winter if t snows a lot!

I use no ethanol fuel in my gasoline powered equipment and AC and off road diesel in my tractor. I have 2 55 gallon transfer tanks equipped with 12 volt, metered pumps. I have both tanks bolt mounted on oak pallets. I keep them in the toy shed and pick them up with a set of pallet forks for my loader so I can place them in the back of my pickup. We shop at Kroger for groceries and and occasionally we buy gift cards from them for use at businesses that we frequent. They have diesel fuel at a lot of their locations and you can save up to $1.00 per gallon with the rewards discount. I have purchased diesel fuel from them for less than $2 per gallon and I cannot find off road diesel for less than that. BTW, I have a lot of old, small, gasoline powered equipment and I have had no issues with any of them. I firmly believe that is due to using only ethanol free fuel in them. It is getting harder to find, particularly high octane ethanol free fuel (91+ octane).

I think I have posted this before but this is what works for me. First I tried all the super siphons and whatever but nothing worked well. I broke down and bought a 12 volt Fill Rite fuel transfer pump from Princess Auto for about $250 and couldn't be happier. I mounted it on a bench in my small gas shed with a flex hose that goes into a 5 gal can of gas or diesel . My wife can fill her lawn mower and lawn cart with gas and I can fuel the ATV and snowmobile with gas and the tractor with diesel. There are also some small inexpensive battery operated gas pumps on Amazon.com that may work in some situations
