Filling the ROPS with foam on BX

I did it to my 2620 and it seemed quieter.

I would think the best benefit to this is to keep bees and wasps from building nests in the ROPS during inactive times. It is honestly shocking how fast they can build a nest in such a place...

:)

Even with it plugged there are plenty of other good nesting locations on a tractor. But don't foam the exhaust pipe!

As someone who has once climbed on and started a tractor that hadn't been used for a while and had wasps come out of every crack and hole of the ROPS in all directions (was a folding ROPS and had some holes manufactured in it in various spots for additional addons that weren't on this unit); I'd much rather have them nest under the hood than in the ROPS. At least you see them coming...

They will nest in the loader arms too. It really aggravates them when you start operating the loader.

I still would prefer it over having them exiting holes on both sides of my head at ear level (couple tried exiting their holes and entering mine), slightly behind any peripheral vision.

:) Now I smile but didn't the day it happened. I was mowing with my trusty Orange Kubota tractor and a wasp kept hitting the hood and bouncing off. It kept doing this over and over and I was smiling thinking the Kubota can resist his attack. I wear sunglasses and a hat while mowing for glare protection. Well that wasp bounced to far one time and got me right between the eyes.:ashamed::confused2::eek::shocked::thumbdown::smiley_aafz::eek:

Looks like if you had a foldable ROPS you could detach the top part and drive it around to get an idea if filling it would cause any difference.

At my last hydro service 530hours, I bought the SUDT-2. Previously bought the SUDT at 100hours and 300 hours. Vastly noticeable whine reduction. To the point of if I hear a whine, it's unusual. 2004 BX2230. Sorry not a foam response, so please pardon the input if it was off target.
