I thought about that originally, but my L39 would lift all that way up without any issues. I have a sloped hill on the property and, when I try to level the tractor out, requiring one stabilizer to lift at least 12 inches and it just can't. I would think it should be able to.

My L39 stabilizers have no problem lifting the tractor off the ground and my tires are loaded. If you still have both, compare the geometer of the L48 stabilizers with the L39. Could be a design flaw in the L48.

As the stabilizer cyl becomes more parallel with the leg, the less power you have to lift.

Force on one cyl.

If a 2 in cyl, 1 in shaft, and 2500 psi, and cyl at 20 degrees you would have a force of 2686 lbs on that cyl.

If the angle is now 10 degrees, you will have a force of 1364 lbs.

----------------------5 degrees------------------------------685 lbs

----------------------1 degree-------------------------------137 lbs

So you can see why, that when the legs are near fully extended, you run out of force to lift.

A straight 90 push force on that cyl would be about 7854 lbs

Sounds like a design flaw, I agree with JJ. due to cyl/stabilizer geometry, the cyls are not strong enough to lift the machine any higher...
I have a JD 955 that has almost same flaw.
