Haha ALERT THE AUTHORITIES!

Never heard of someone getting in trouble for lights.

Also, this is kind of a "minimalist" mod. The fella who adds a big red danger switch wouldn't have no minimalist mod - his is a 36" lightbar in the middle of the tailgate

In PA and some other states non-factory lights can trigger unwanted attention. They look like a nice addition, just hope they are aimed so no one gets blinded when backing up..

Need help finding hardware.

Want to protect LEDs from backing into something. Does anybody know where I can get a recessed washer similar to the aircraft partno AN975-6 AN975 TAPER PIN WASHERS from Aircraft Spruce

I want something thats black aluminum or black nylon. To fit inside the recess, the head diameter is .69" and the height of the LED is about 3/8". Cost to replace damaged LEDs is not much ($20 for 12 LEDs) but rewiring is some effort.

Lots of cabinet feet are available but they're rubber. Hard black plastic or nylon is better. If I only had a lathe,,,,,,, hmmmmm wonder if I could make them on a drill press? For that i'd need some black nylon rod about 1-1/4" diameter,,,,,

Looks like you need AN975-12 (same thing, but with a 3/4" ID per http://everyspec.com/AN-SPECS/AN100-AN999/download.php?spec=AN975_REV-3.027179.pdf)
