Well I ended up going with the 4035 from my local dealer. I worked it pretty hard over two days removing a concrete perimeter foundation. On the end of the second day I noticed a leak. Called the dealer who sent out a tech same day. Turns out that one of the banjo fittings is bad. He has to order the part - so I'm sidelined for a few days. I put about 15 hours on the tractor. I have to say that the performance is pretty darn impressive.

While I wish the leak had not happened - I was pleased that my dealer had someone out to my place same day to take a look at it. He even gave me a free gallon of hyd fluid.

I really can't imagine not having 4wd. I have already gotten myself into some pretty sticky spots. Between the 4wd and locking diff - the tractor has made it out of everything thus far.

Same as I have, I know they can out the power down and do some work for a fact... Which tranny? Did you get the rear tires loaded? Are you running the R1 AG tires or R4 industrials? I have loaded AGs and an HST, not much I push or pull on that doesn't move.

TBN guidelines also state: pictures or it didn't happen! :)

Sysop,

Sorry for the delayed response. I also have the HST with loaded AG tires. I really love the tractor, but it had been plagued by hydraulic leaks. The dealer has worked on it three times now. I'm sure that they will eventually find a fix, but it has me a little frustrated at the moment!

Sorry to hear that. I only had one leak (improperly seated seal of some sort) that caused my 3pt to stop working the first time I hung weight on it. My dealer had me fixed up over the weekend and the problem hasn't reoccurred. Hydraulic leaks can be a pain.

I know a guy who had a small New Holland a few years back that had a hydraulic leak. He tightened the leaky connection to stop that leak, the leak would appear next week at another connection. He'd tighten it and use the tractor, then another leak would appear at another connection the next time he went to use it. His previous tractor was an old IH and he said he had to do the same with it, he always complained chasing hydraulic leaks was almost a constant thing. Between the pressures of the hydraulics and the vibration of the entire unit when operating, tightening the various connectors that begin to drip are just maintenance at times.

That being said, I'm over 200 hours now and have had no more leaks appear after having the one on the 3pt fixed the weekend after purchase. I think once your dealer gets done chasing the leaks all down and getting everything sealed up good you'll be fine, but the way the pressures of the system can cause a leak to appear in different places as you get other things tightened down, and also the fact that sometimes the other/new leaks don't appear until under load, it can be a pain to track down and eliminate.

Basically, tightening and sealing a leak results in slightly more pressures elsewhere, at times revealing leaks somewhere else. Sometimes it needs ran some under load to reveal the new leaks. It can be time consuming, but that's what warranty is all about.

I would stay in contact with the dealer and try to allow them ample time to go through everything (there are gobs of places for hydraulics to leak). If it seems the dealer is becoming frustrated with it, you could perhaps offer to call MUSA and explain the situation to them, they may be able to send in one of their traveling techs that are amazingly knowledgeable about these units, or find some other solution to the problem. Dealers generally stay in pretty close contact with MUSA on all warranty repairs as MUSA has to provide approval to ensure the dealers get paid on the work, but if both the dealer and the owner are calling about the same unit, MUSA may have more resolution options according to their policies. Discuss it with your dealer and get their thoughts.

I hope they get you fixed up rapidly and to your complete satisfaction. The 4035 is a great unit and well made, it will serve you well once it is done peeing hydro fluid on the ground... :)

regarding leaks...............

I got my 3016 last summer and this was my first winter with it. After one of the first storms, I noticed fluid coming from a connector of my right main lift cylinder. I tightened it and no more problem. I checked all the other hose connections and found no problems. Probably a worker got distracted when assembling the unit. Then i noticed another leak coming from the same cylinder. After removing it, I saw that it was the weld where the cast 'end cap' is welded to the cylinder 'tube'.

I took it to my dealer who replaced it with no questions asked.

The cylinder was made in China if that's important to anyone.

I'd imagine the source of the cylinders varies a lot.

My KWM built loader and Bradco built backhoe that both came with my 4035 have different cylinders on them. KWM doesn't make all of Mahindra's loaders for all models and Bradco doesn't make all of Mahindra's backhoes, so I'm sure there is even more variances as you extend to other models. Both, KWM and Bradco pride themselves on being "Made in the USA", not sure where they source their materials and parts from though.

I know both have good quality American hoses and come with Made in the USA stickers all over the place and are among the best loaders and hoes available, they have stuff to fit many brands of tractors... I liked the fact both came with complete cylinder rebuild instructions with their respective manuals.

Sysop,

My dealer has been great. They come out and fix on site if possible. If not, the will haul it back to their shop. They don't charge me for these extra services. I know that they want to fix the issue as badly as I want it fixed.

I'm really glad that I chose to buy local and from a dealer with good service. I couldn't imagine trying to deal warranty issues with a dealer that was hours away...

It is great to have a good working relationship with your dealer and I in no way would want to advise anything to jeopardize that. All I meant was sometimes MUSA can be slow to respond to dealers when they are having a high volume of calls (this time of year is always high volume). Only with your dealer's blessing would I contact MUSA, it is just sometimes MUSA may be a little prompter at assisting your dealer on your issue (if possible) if you as the owner are contacting them also.

Furthermore, if it does become a time consuming thing and calling MUSA is something you need to do, explain that the dealer is working to your satisfaction to find a resolution but that they also need to be stepping up and assisting your dealer support their product in a timely manner.

I actually didn't even know that MUSA had mobile teams that could help dealers out on difficult issues. That's good to know. I will keep everyone updated and post some pics soon.

I learned of it when I had my hydraulic issue on my 3pt. My tractor was delivered last thing on a Thursday. I learned of the issue once I removed the backhoe and tried hooking up my brush cutter to drag it out of the driveway. The lift arms lowered fine, but once the cutter was hooked up they wouldn't raise. Took the cutter off and they still wouldn't raise, but would flop around loosely by hand.

Friday the mechanic showed up and was kind of stumped as he had never seen such an issue, and he was somewhat reluctant to just start tearing it apart without calling MUSA first. He took it to the shop and called MUSA and they hadn't had any issues reported but they had a tech that would be passing my area going from PA to GA, but it would mean everyone had to put in Saturday hours (on MUSA's dime). The MUSA tech showed up, tore everything down, found some internal seal that must not have been seated right during assembly. Put it together enough to test, it tested good so they called it a day. The local mechanic completed the reassembly Monday morning and had it back to me by noon.

I was impressed and pleased...
