Very end of the video you can see the mess I pushed up with the tractor. It's time to head home, so cleaning that up will wait for another trip.

How much further do you need to cut in, Jim?

I buried a 6' wide trail with about 6 mature aspen trees yesterday. That's the blockage in the video. Aside from a furrow that I have a 12" culvert to stuff in, I'm on high ground now.

My driveway is another 700' or so, but I shouldn't "need" to fill it with base. I probably will over time, but for now I'm switching gears to clearing trees. I still need to get the cargo container up the hill before too long. But I also need to earn a living, and my parts will be ready Monday, so I'm getting back to work for a couple weeks.

I understand.

FWIW, I'm getting my container out of Auto Truck & Equipment south of St. Cloud on 10. I had trouble finding people who were reasonable and willing to chase a container up to Nevis.

Good video and nice job on the road. That whole earning a living thing sure does get in the way of enjoyable work sometimes.

Does this count for wood? Two tractors (sort of ... the DT466 in the International is used in tractors :) )

No, this don't count for wood because you didn't say or show how you dug out those big stumps:confused: PS, Where's the red dirt, I've been in Lynchburg Va. several times in the past couple years, and I always notice the red-ish dirt.

Ha! It was a CAT 953B (not mine) that cost me $100/hr.

Update: here's a pic:

Well, I got to work 3 days on the project with my new-to-me truck so considering me spending a day moving stumps instead of the excavator guy having to jump off the loader and then drive his truck ... 1 day of my time was equal to 2+ of his so the truck I conned my wife into letting me have paid for itself with its very first project. Next is making a 1/4 mile gravel road.

Here is mine. I lift up most of the tree with the loader and cut to the loader. Then I lift the top with the backhoe thumb and cut up the rest. I then load all of it into a dump truck and haul it to a building to split and stack.
