Don't use brush mower with trailer hitch kit installed on 3032e!

I was talking to my JD dealer about what happen to you tractor. He saw the photo of the case. He said the tractor would not be total because the cost would be less then 80% if the value of the tractor.
He said JD should cover the repair.

I agree with the cost , but why should deere take care of it, it was a accident not a manufacture defect or problem.

I think he mentioned earlier it was insured through JD.

I'd say it was a mfg problem in that it was aluminum. I can't imagine using aluminum in any area of high stress on a tractor. JD must be seeing other aluminum failures.

I doubt that any other brand made of cast iron or cast steel would have suffered the same fate.

Yes I agree his insurance should stand behind it, I thought you meant deere should under warranty.

From my experience Deere will stand behind the failure. Was an accident, but Deere has a reputation of covering such failures that may be accidental or may even be abuse.
But it will likely be how hard the dealer pushes, and also because Deere insurance is involved, any concern is a non-issue as long as it gets a new part.

The non-Deere folk posting can probably be a bit envious that Deere will likely step up to the plate...

Hope for the best, either get this new tractor fixed or get another tractor, glad he has insurance to cover most of the cost. Without insurance this could be a tough pill to swallow.

Thinking back I have only used my drawbar one time to pull a large seed trailer. The rest of the time the drawbar has sat on a shelf in the shed. I run my transport chains through the drawbar opening most of the time and use 3ph tools, so not much need for the drawbar.

It's been a busy week, I haven't had much time to be on the forum to give an update.
When I called Wednesday they said the claim and estimate had been approved and the tractor was already disassembled. They said they were waiting for a few more parts and seals to arrive before starting reassembly. They hope to be done early this coming week. I can't wait to get it back. The ticks are getting terrible because I can't keep the brush mowed.

I am happy to report my tractor has been returned and was fixed to my satisfaction with a new housing. The total cost was $3972.xx. It took 112 hours of labor in the shop to fix it. The dealer delivered the tractor right after it was repaired before I had paid anything. This week they got the check from the insurance written to both of us. I went in to the dealer today and signed the check and paid my 500.00 deductible. It has been so nice having my baby back.
My tractor was also able to redeem itself after getting drug off the hill by a little Kubota the day it broke. The first day I had it back my neighbor got his Kubota stuck in the mud and I was able to pull it out.
Overall I am very happy with the John Deere insurance and the process.
