Good morning! 73˚ no rain clear skies!
I'm still in awe, not with the clear skies but with the events of this weekend.
Yesterday day it was 48˚
Through, what I can describe only as fate, I found myself over the weekend (as the only non-medical professional) at a Cardiovascular Summit in Chicago.
I thought now I can find out the lastest in treating cardiovascular disease.
NO DRUG COMPANY SPONSORED THIS SUMMIT - this was very important! It was put together by Rush University Medical Center.
I sat through the the lectures by some of the most distinguished people in Cardiovascular care.
I Learned all about advance knowledge in the angiogenesis of plaque formation and the critical role of nutritional intervention. Also how to save the endothelial cells of the heart.
Dr. Kim Allan Williams was also there among many others and explained the new non-cholesteral diet guidelines by the government (since he was on the board)- apparently the criteria was only studies over 500 people were considered and the lack of studies over 500 left the board with not enough studies to give a dietary recommendation one way or the other. However all his experience and research of himself and others left him with no doubt that it is all about the diet and cholesterol does play a role. Its all about Nutritional intervention.
While all of the Dr's present agreed that they can sometimes reset the progression of heart disease by stents and by-passes they have done the repeated procedures on most of their patients which has proven this is only a small temporary delay. There was a lot of frustration in the room that not enough is being done to promote the only thing that will stop the progression in of heart disease in 99% of patients. Diet. A diet that is whole food, plant based with no added oils.
