It has been an awesome week herein Atlantic Beach NC. Got some sun, surf, and silly times with my girls. I believe we will come back here next year!

Today is the last day to work on our sunburn and boogie board skills, so that is most of the plan, then we need to pack up tonight and be out by 10am tomorrow.

68°F and no rain last 24 hours.

Diesel man coming back today to work on my generator. Fingers crossed he can get it right. Runs ok, but the problem is stopping it. After fuel solenoid engages it still runs on. Likely either the injector pump, which I have a replacement or a timing issue. Will be so nice to have it quitting properly.

Something doesn't sound right here, David. If the fuel solenoid is cutting the flow of fuel to the engine, the engine has to stop, regardless of what the injection pump is doing. I'm no Diesel mechanic (I don't even play one on TV), neither did I sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but at this point I'd suspect I don't understand what Diesel man is telling me or that what I'm hearing is BS. Any chance you could get a second opinion from somebody you trust?

RS : At one time I used to despise sycamore as it grew like a weed in the garden. Now we have a wood burning stove it is all gratefully harvested in. I find it soon dries when cut into rounds like you are doing. The mistake I made was to leave it in a pile instead of spreading it out. A year on and those on the outside had almost completely dried out, while the rounds on the inside of the pile still had a lot of sap.

Today is my mother 96th birthday. Taking balloons over to her this morning. Then a small family party this evening.

Give her my best wishes and a big "Happy Birthday!".

RS, get a set of logging tongs to move them large pieces around with tractor. Also a Cant Hook helps to move large logs. Sure saves the back.

Yeah ... work smart, not hard ...

I actually have two pair of logging tongs I bought from NT ... and a Timberjack ...

Unfortunately, none of them really open up far enough to be of use with the really large logs.

I was actually thinking about making a cant hook yesterday ... have some 1" scrap plate that had circles cut out from it ... might make a a good hook.

Another project to ad to the list ...

Good Morning! 68 heading to the mid 90s - still dark so no cloud report. I'm glad I have hundreds of dead trees to choose my light fire wood from after seeing those RS logs.

While I really appreciate having the wood (and getting it gratis), it's definitely some work dealing with it - particularly as heavy as it is.
