Anyone added a water temp gage to their Iseki?
I want one for my 1610. Wondering what size the temp probe for the light is, so I cna replace with a gage probe.

Well, if you get no replies from actual owners, I suggest the $18, metric (small sizes) tap & die set at Harbor Freight. It's in a wooden case and though the dies are hard to read (acid etched) it is one of the few HF tools that don't suck. I say that because it comes with a metric thread gauge. You'll not be tapping or die-ing for this project, but you will be able to use the dies (or thread gauge and a caliper) to find the correct metric size and pitch for a gauge kit as opposed to your current sender. Good luck.

Thanks. Is that a 2 cyl diesel? I have not pulled my current probe to measure it.

Yes it is a two cylinder. I installed a 12 volt electric temp gauge for the engine. I drilled and tapped a hole in the thermostat housing and inserted the temp sender there. It works very well. I use the original temp light switch hole for the block heater and the block drain for the inlet to block the block heater.

Interesting. Is there a reason you just did not use the temp light tap in the housing for the gauge probe?

Where I live it gets cold in the winter and these engines do not start easy in cold weather so I needed a block heater and I wanted a temp gauge for the hot weather. A temperature probe has to be in the flow of the water to be accurate and there is no way to utilize that same tap to return water from for the block heater.

I'm not following what you are saying. So you kept the coolant temp warning light and probe installed where it was, rather than just replacing the light probe with a gauge probe?

I removed the temp light probe completely, there is a hole in the dash where the temp light was.I used the temp probe tap for the outlet for the block heater and the block drain tap for the block heater inlet. I tapped a hole in the thermostat housing for the temp gauge sender. Both modifications work very well and cause no problems.

Okay, gotcha. Where did you mount the gauge? Pics?
