I have a TX 1500 F. It had a temp switch probe it was 3/8 pipe thread (American thread).
Yes it is a two cylinder. I installed a 12 volt electric temp gauge for the engine. I drilled and tapped a hole in the thermostat housing and inserted the temp sender there. .
Where I live it gets cold in the winter and these engines do not start easy in cold weather so I needed a block heater and I wanted a temp gauge for the hot weather. A temperature probe has to be in the flow of the water to be accurate and there is no way to utilize that same tap to return water from for the block heater.
I removed the temp light probe completely, there is a hole in the dash where the temp light was.I used the temp probe tap for the outlet for the block heater and the block drain tap for the block heater inlet. I tapped a hole in the thermostat housing for the temp gauge sender. Both modifications work very well and cause no problems.

I just checked my probe, the threads are 3/8 pipe.
