It turned off dry here too this month. I don't know our total but it's not enough and well below normal.

Oswego, New Yorks snow mountain is long gone.

It makes the snow melting pits look real good and real economical now doesn't it?

I hate to think about what is leaching into the ground water.

I guess they are not thinking about breaking it up to let it melt faster.

BOSTON (AP) — It's disgusting enough to put you off snow cones for the rest of the summer.
A Boston public works official says the towering piles of filthy snow left over from the city's record-setting winter are even more grotesque than most people can imagine.
Daniel Nee says one giant pile contains an estimated 86 tons of debris, and much of it is household garbage. Nee says two snowstorms struck after Bostonians put their trash out, and it all got swept up by passing plows.
Nee said Friday that as the piles melt, they've revealed fire hydrants, parking meters and other items. But he says a lot of rotting garbage is still buried in the leftover snow.
Officials think the piles easily could last until the Fourth of July or longer.

Nothing much is leaching into the ground water as the pile is still frozen.

They are removing the dirt and trash as the ice along the edges melts.

Please tell me you weren't wearing that get up today. Temp today was in the high eighties in Boston for those of you who think it might still be cold up here.

You might also consider a neoprene balaclava type facemask...great when it's windy and you are snowblowing. About four bucks at Ocean State Job Lot (in season).

I was in the black boot Armed Forces myself. The boots lasted along time.
