Grading Cheap rear blade

I was looking at some rear blades @500.00. Everything attachments has some that are quarter inch moldboard with a steel blade on the bottom. It's a 3 pt. blade that swivels. Has anyone used one of these blades or know if my caution is well founded.

Been this route with cheap rear blades.Last winter I bought a 84 inch woods HD model and could not be happier with it,s performance.I cannot comment on the everything attachments blade.They seem to make good products.

Well that's good news. Do you ever use it in rocky soil? I will take a look at the woods line also. It's not something i would use daily but I'm in New Mexico and our soil is rocky here.

I have a Dirt Dog brand 5006 rear blade. It has been great. Dirt Dog makes the blades for Bush Hog, but cost a little less.

Ron, most of our soil is very rocky.I live on a 2 mile self maintained road,I try to buy the most heavy duty implements I can afford.I have used the Woods blade to grade our road numerous times after we get a gully washer that creates deep ruts.I also use a Befco land plane for some finish work.

Land Pride, manufactured in Kansas, is well regarded for their rear blades. Most Kubota dealers sell Land Pride.

Buy heavy. You will end up bending a light weight blade and then all you will have is scrap.

If you buy too light, the blade will just jitter along the surface of your rocky dirt. You require blade weight to cut.

Typically when it comes to NEW implements, you get what you pay for. Been there, done that.:ashamed:

After you waste thousands of dollars on implements that you know are not meant to be used behind your size tractor, but are told by your dealer that they will be fine and you are naive enough to trust the dealer, well I guess it is a costly learning curve. It was for me anyway.

At least I was smart enough to get the right size tractor the first time around.

Thank you everyone for your help and insights. Thepoint about size of tractor is very much on my mind. Believing people who stand to gain from what they are telling you is folly. It leads to the question is it possible to get a heavy blade appropriate for a 30 machine.? I hope so.

Ron i have a Land Pride rear blade. Very happy with it.

Search for used. I paid $75 for a Little Rhino, very heavy duty, 7' moldboard blade. Angles, tilts, and beam swings to each side. I used it on my little B2910 Kubota. Had to put 240lbs of suitcase weights on the front.

My suggestion is buy the heaviest blade you can carry.
