When I bought Britney, I did not think I would need any implements beyond the backhoe and loader.

While that may still be true, there are implements that I want.....

I have scoured TBN and the web and came up with the following as next purchases.

I just bought the Kubota 3PH kit, so I can hook up attachments.

I need to make some footers, one larger (24"x48") and many smaller (9"). The larger is for a deck footer, and yes it needs to be that big. That one I will dig with the backhoe. The others are for my future garage pole building. My land is has lots of rocks, boulders and stone.

I have done a lot of land clearing and excavating to make some level areas around the house. I also put in a 1/2 mile trail (with the help of a much larger machine). The areas I have excavated need to be leveled out to a much finer degree. The trail needs to be maintained.

I have lots of trees, both deadfall and standing timber. I want to consolidate, so a boom is in order.

For the footers, I am looking at an auger/posthole digger. I will be sinking 6x6 posts, so am thinking a 9" auger is the right tool.

For the grading/trail maintenance I am thinking box blade. 48" seems to be the magic number for the little tractors, so that is where I am heading.

Tractor Supply has all the tools I want.

Boom
CountyLine® Boom Pole - Tractor Supply Co.

Post Hole digger (plus I need to buy Auger itself)
CountyLine® Post Hole Digger - Tractor Supply Co.

Box Blade (link is to Rural King, but TS has the exact same model in stores
Tarter 4' Box Blade SC BBSCR4 by Tarter (ORANGE color) for $521.97 in Box Blades - 3 Point Blades & Box Blades - 3 Point Equipment & Accessories - Agriculture : Rural King

I believe I am going in the right direction with these choices, but feedback is welcome. I know Everything Attachments is a sponsor and makes good stuff, but TS is offering 12 month, same as cash financing, which weighs into my decision right now.

One question I do have, given my very limited knowledge, is instead of buying a boom, could I not just remove the gearbox from the auger and use the arms as a boom? I would not need to do either type of work back to back, so the hour or so making the swap would not be a factor for me. Right now it is not the $130 for the boom that is at issue, it is the fact that I have no place to put all my toys.

Thanks in advance.

I always used frame from my post hole digger as my boom. I could mount the gear box in fifteen minutes

Sounds like you are headed in the right direction. I would price Land Pride implements before going to TSC. In my opinion, they are of a better grade and offer colors that match your BX-25. The yellow color of the other brand clash too much with the Kubota orange for my liking.

My 60" land pride box blade was only $450 from my dealer....

I have his quick attach mount, grapple setup, and forks. Top notch stuff and he stands behind it. I've moved a lot of trees and brush with the grapple

A 12" hole would be better, unless you are good at putting the hole in just at the right spot and stright. I'm not so I use 12" or 14" auger.

Your tractor might not be strong enough to make any difference, but any box blade that doesn't have reinforcement on the hitch pins is junk.

You have a front end loader and a backhoe... just curious as to why you'd need a boom, too? And why would you disassemble a post hole digger to act as a boom when you have a front end loader? Again, just curious. Thanks.

I have logs to move. In my mind, easiest way to do that is with a boom and tongs. And when I say logs to move, I refer to dozens of trees up to half a mile.

Carrying the logs in FEL doesn't work for me. Not sure how I would use BH for log moving.

Make sure your PHD is made for sub compacts. They do not set as high so a standard PHD will not raise high enough.

Yrp, this one is sized for a SCUT
