Hi Kirk. I have not thought about the bumper but only getting the tractor to run dependably well. I am thinking of cleaning it up and painting it after the mechanics are done. I will keep you in mind and look up what is the difference in the bumper design.

Check out the link I posted in your original post in projects. There are a couple of ol timers there that helped me do a tune up on my 2n after it started firing poorly.

Any info you need for your 8n, just ask.

If you are in Warrington, Pa we have a show the 3rd weekend in Washington crossing NJ just across the river from Pa. This year is a ford feature so there should be a good turn out of fords there. If you have the means to trailer your 8n bring it along. There will be plenty of fords there in their work clothes too. There is also a swap meet there where you might find some implements/ford parts for sale. Here is a link.
This site is under development

Something you can do for your bush hog is to fill it with grease. Lots of people have done this for years, to get around a leaky gear box on a hog. It will last a long time like that as the grease liquifies some as soon as the gear box gets warm.

Also, something else you need with the bush hog is an ORC. Over run coupler. You can get one for your N at TSC or farm store. It keeps the hog from pushing you into a tree or your car or pond when you stop the N. Lots of stories out there about this. It allows the hog to free spin when you push in the clutch on the N. You can get one for your spline size on the pto stub on the back of the N (1 1/8 PTO splines if original or 1 3/8 if replaced. Most modern implements have the 1 3/8 size. I have a '52 8N.
